I worked at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore as an intern

    Pros

All outpatient employees are easy to get along with and great resources. Always ready to bounce ideas off each other and offer advice when needed. The RETURN! Brain Injury Community Re-Entry Program offers a unique experience for helping patients post-ABI achieve functional skills and learn in a group setting. Overall, wonderful experience at Sinai.

    Cons

Although the rest of the hospital utilizes electronic records, Outpatient services still utilize written documentation. The time it takes to hand write daily notes, in addition to monthly progress notes, etc. detracts from time with the patients. However, there are plans to implement the use of electronic records within Outpatient in the future.

    Advice to Management

Do not schedule too many initial evaluations without first adding recently evaluated patients who have been recommended for therapy to the schedule!

I have been working at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn and grow. Free parking for employees; Great compensation for nurses

    Cons

Increase work load for nurses and physicians , partly due to health care regulations. I'm sure this is the same in all acute care facilities.

    Advice to Management

Shadow or work along side a Bedside nurse for a Shift regularly to see what its like on the front line. You'll gain alot of respect of staff.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Hospital setting, meet some nice people, the location is ideal.

    Cons

Retention rate, poor give management, minimal to no managerial presence, unorganized,

    Advice to Management

give cross training to employees and have managers be competent in all area. The managers need training on how to manage effectively and should know how to work all systems despite there level. Managers need to be more professional and address employees directly rather than having other employee relay a message.

  10. "Good working climate"

    Pros

Hardworking team members; reasonable lunch time; good management in radiology department (management followed through with every issue of concern).

    Cons

Schedules were never guaranteed. Orthopedic physicians would cancel their schedules whenever they wanted and as a PRN employee I would get sent home early when the work load was reduced.
