I have been working at Singapore Power full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Good benefits especially the leaves.

    Cons

Performance bonuses must be segmented into departmental level. Top management must see staffs real problems especially Head of Section always made blunder.

    Advice to Management

Take care of staffs from Manager and below because middle mgt always change for their own benefits.

I have been working at Singapore Power full-time

    Pros

Pay good, Bounus is good, 3,4 month

    Cons

Culture getting worse. The more you do, the more problem have. Top ppl just ask you to do more, nv help to solve the problem. We are going to become like STE and SMRT.

    Advice to Management

This company need discipline. worker need the feedback as sense of achievement. They need to be motivated by respect and dignity. We don't need the management knows nothing about engineering. Our management shall come from engineer , then can understand ground people and help them in the work.

I have been working at Singapore Power full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Good starting pay. Great people.

    Cons

Insane amount of red tape. Culture of being too afraid to make mistake - leading to multiple redundant steps/checks: middle-senior management go-to solution to solve issues. Blame culture - contractors failing to adhere to SOP = fault of officers. Workload.

I have been working at Singapore Power full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Practical and hands-on work. No industry in Singapore will allow you to operate on medium voltage switchgears. This is an essential learning path to be a LEW if you aspire to be one. Freedom at work. Non-desk bound job. Doing a service to the country

    Cons

    1. Attend to alarms, outage during standbys may be disruptive to work life balance 2. Unfair Bell curve ranking. Most of the time with deadwood being ranked highly. 3. Complacency within older staffs whom think that they are always safe because of new guys always been ranked lower than them. 4. Headcount freeze, peanuts increment

    Advice to Management

Lack of empathy. Being conservative to the point of being impractical only indicates the lack of touch and know-how on the ground. In the meeting room, only 2 types of people. YES Men or Quiet Men. Instilled fear has led to no work, no error altitude Please correct this before you talk about being the best in class as an utility!
