    Pros

Some of the best people you will ever meet. Company provided fruits, cereals etc. Friday drinks.

    Cons

Very poor management who lack people skills and are very unapproachable. The management team seem to look out for their own and there was very little engagement with staff. Career progression became difficult if you did not play into their games and office politics. Management treat good hard working people as a resource and not an asset.

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately the service delivery management team seemed to be beyond help.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at SiteMinder full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, decent amenities such as fruit, breakfast cereals and Friday drinks. If you're bad at your job this is a great company to hide out for a couple of years doing nothing.

    Cons

A boys club where the under-skilled sycophantic lackeys somehow land senior management jobs. The more brown nosing you do the more you progress. As company with so much potential it has squandered resources on hiring mediocre , substandard people in crucial positions.

    Advice to Management

Leadership starts from the top and trickles down. The expression "Lions led by Donkeys" springs to mind. Simply believing that the your products are the best blinds you to the fact that currently they are mediocre at best. Thinking a few beers on Friday and fruit three times a week makes for a good culture is also deluded. Best advice I could give is to sack everyone at the top and replace them with people who... actually know how to run a business.

I worked at SiteMinder full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friday drinks Sometimes snacks provided The people you work with directly are great

    Cons

Employees made to feel more like a number than a valued worker. Very high turnover and external hires rather than retaining current employees. Very low morale around the office when it used to be a great energy. Huge tensions between teams with nothing in place or any efforts made to resolve this. Management not trained to properly support workers in more practical ways such as career progression or management... of work loads. Upper management very disconnected to the rest of the office . Departments very separated both physically and professionally. Changes made constantly without consulting those who will be affected the most. Feedback doesn't seem to go anywhere, just gets dismissed. Wish I could say more positive things but ultimately was very unhappy working for SiteMinder

    Advice to Management

Trust your workers that know what they are doing and will know what's best to make practical improvements, not just changes for the sake of changes. There's a huge problem with morale company wide that is not being genuinely addressed and will ultimately lead to less productivity and more people leaving

    Pros

    Breakfast everyday and friday drinks.

    Cons

Management treat good people as a resource not an asset. Might here some comments ("Not intention") that might demoralised you.

    Advice to Management

Management and Human resource should work hard to maintain good people. Hire management people with the same belief and vission as the company that we know of.

    I worked at SiteMinder

    Pros

A diverse set of employees from all around the world which I love in a workplace. Friday drinks are nice. Free coffee is also a plus.

    Cons

The repetitive nature of each day. A glorified call centre where friday drinks are simply a tool to distract you from the monotenous tasks under took each day.

    Advice to Management

Be more honest in the interview process. They sell a great product to you (working at siteminder) with a rigorous interview process and after all that you sit in front of your computer making cold calls. Everyone must start somewhere understandbly but on the phones all day cold calling really does affect ones morale. For the tech industry the salary is also quite poor.

    Pros

Friday drinks location Friday Foodie Market some funny clowns in upper management

    Cons

I've recently joined them and already looking for a job. It is a big company run by tiny brains. They hire experienced and smart people and have no clue what to do with them. Very quickly new people get frustrated by doing pointless projects and having stupid fights and leave. culture of bullying and disrespect resistance to new ideas nasty politics too many overinflated managerial egos During induction... we were gently asked to make a positive review on Glassdoor. But only if we wish. You know. It's easy for you and good for your company. Not sure if anyone ended up doing this but it is a no-brainer that some positive reviews here are rubbish. Advice to any new starter - don't rush with updating your linkedin profile. There is a good chance you find yourself back to a job market in a few months and it would be not easy to explain why you want to leave a job this soon.

I worked at SiteMinder full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Some of the colleagues - Nearby shopping centre - Old, low quality, fattening cookies - Friday drinks - The products - mainly channel manager and prophet are actually really good vs competition - Opportunity to learn about distribution landscape for hospitality industry, however only if you're new to it

    Cons

    - Unusually high staff turnover - Appalling HR department in London office - Micromanagement - Unpleasant working environment - Unrealistic KPI's - A lot of meetings, chats, gatherings with no substance to it - Clapping, cheering, bell ringing - all of it suitable for nursery, not an adult, professional environment - Internal politics beyond the comprehension - Big Brother style of monitoring your work... - Over ambitious plans of saturating the emerging market with the product, resulting in firing vast amount of people who do not meet overblown targets - Constructive criticism taken as a negative attitude, which hinders the attempt to make the products and service better

    Pros

People are nice, the Friday drinks are a great way to socialise Quite flexible in terms of time, the company generally trusts you to do a good job A good stepping stone/place to learn

    Cons

Little to no internal comms from execs. I know they are working on it now but still most information gets passed around through office gossip No investment in growth/upskilling/training of existing staff (I'm guessing due to budget constraints). A lot of talk of things 'coming soon'.. attempts seem quite superficial.. staff don't feel valued Salary is quite low compared to rest of tech sector Prefer to hire... externally than upskill existing staff A lot of egos and internal politics, people siloed into their own areas of work
