part of sales team - offering any assistance to outside sellers

    Dec 27, 2022 - Pre-Sales Support Engineer

    Pros

love working with our local team. with multiple locations in our market - we have an amazing team of managers, sellers and the rest of the staff that are supportive and hard working people. I do like that we do seem to provide opportunities for advancement for those that want to do so. SiteOne as a company is big enough to withstand some market instability which is definitely a plus.

    Cons

The positivity and 'be a great place to work' feeling - stops with the area management. I am not at a level where I have any direct contact with our CEO. However, multiple people who are at that level have told me our CEO is someone who values the SiteOne employees. That message gets totally lost though with the management at our local level. There's very little support and or guidance & direction, but there's plenty of 's hit rolls downhill' mentality from people that come into the market & bark orders and then leave. It's VERY frustrating!

    It’s just okay.

Mar 16, 2023 - Department Manager in Alpharetta, GA

    Pros

    • 401k match • I like my co-workers.

    Cons

    • Required overtime every week. • Work every other weekend. • ceo started with 4 weeks vacation, regular employees get 2 weeks. It would take 10 years working at SiteOne to get to 4 weeks vacation normally. • no dedicated sick time, you have to use pto. • take advantage of salaried employees working long hours •needs to pay more. You can’t live in same zip code based on pay. Some employees drive 1 hour to get here. • no on the job training, maybe show you how to do something once. Or just tell you to do something with no guidance. • Short staffed and expect you to do everything by yourself. • no set schedule even though there should be as there is a place for it on ADP. ( according to the SiteOne employee handbook we should have assigned schedules)

Great people, but needs business process maturing

Jan 24, 2023 - IT Engineer in Concord, NC

    Pros

Nice people - Some of the nicest people that are always willing to help you out. It's not always a "whats in it for me" sort of mentality that you see at some larger companies. Always looking for the best option - management is always willing to do proof of values/concepts on new technologies if it fills a gap in the environment. You learn and see a lot. Values individual contributor input - management does actually care and value the input of individual contributors and uses their feedback to make informed decisions For company size, decent base salary, and bonus percentage - for the size of the company and the team I work in, the pay is pretty good.

    Cons

As a newer company, there is much room to mature. - No concrete hardware refresh lifecycle - they just replace stuff when it breaks rather than having a scheduled refresh - No inventory management - you are always guessing as to who owns what resources, or what is the purpose of some server/VM. - No company standards in IT - branches can buy whatever gear they want generally and expect for it to work on the network. There are no standards enforced - Benefits are not as competitive as some other public/larger companies - upper management wants to attract the best and brightest (who doesn't) but has not provided stock compensation, or any employee wellness coverage into benefits.
