I worked at Sitel (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    The onsite people were great!
Local management went out of their way to work with you on transportation and scheduling.
Paid training for each project, including up-training.

    Cons

Lower than average starting pay. Most call centers in the area start pay at at least 1-2 dollars higher per hour.
Pay cap. The most you could earn as a regular rep was only $1.50 per hour higher than the starting pay, regardless of performance or time on the job.

    Advice to Management

Remove the pay cap. Many people will stick with the job longer if they know they will be able to earn raises beyond your capped amount.

I worked at Sitel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The best part about working for sitel is the training combined with the coaches their to assist new CSR's with handling customer questions.

    Cons

Sometimes the customers are not always that nice, but its understandable when your mad about something but you do not mean to take it out on someone else.

    Advice to Management

    Keep of the remarkable training

    I worked at Sitel full-time

    Pros

    Full time work and scheduling.

    Cons

Pay freeze with possible management embezzlement being the reason. Extreme low pay. Coaches lazy and many haven't taken calls in years so they are very uninformed , a lot of them into drugs. Upper management never on the floor unless to scream at agents. Extreme favoritism by management. Filthy working conditions. The day shift schedule was the only reason I put up with the place for five long years.

    Advice to Management

If you had paid the employees a decent living wage, done something besides come out on the floor screaming or shut up in your office, and had coaches who did something besides take pills and steal from the place the Asheville site might still be open.

I worked at Sitel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You will build life long friendships and there is opportunity to grow within the company. Get to talk to people from all walks of life. They were very flexible with my schedule while I was a student.

    Cons

When the economy crashed, upper management placed a pay increase freeze. Eight years later, there were still no raises. Finally got a raise not from the company, but from the client we were answering calls for.

    Advice to Management

You give employee satisfaction surveys for a reason. If everyone who takes the survey is asking for at the minimum a cost of living increase, you may want to listen. That could have kept more people happy which would have given a better relationship to your clients.

I have been working at Sitel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Works schedule around your life as needed with out issues; great coworkers; new carpeting

    Cons

Work station walls are disgusting; pay less than a living wage; way too picky even if we did get paid a living wage; have to watch your things every time a new crop of people are hired.

    Advice to Management

Teach new employees professionalism; actually regularly review security tapes; actually replace the work station walls instead of just talking about it for over 2 years; PAY US A LIVING WAGE!!!
