    Pros

Generally high level of respect shown to all employees and good work-life balance
    Open communication, usually
Good chance for younger, lower-level staff to move up

    Cons

Not much movement for senior staff
    Lack of revenue hurting growth
Struggle of management from teams on both coasts
Questionable programming decisions -- often strongest program content not supported (again, struggle b/t East and West Coast programming and production mindsets)

    Advice to Management

Home-grown (Baltimore-Washington area) programming and production is very strong and should be supported by senior management; West Coast operations are costly and do not seem to produce as strong results; West Coast management is out of touch with needs of network in many respects.

    Pros

A small city government located in a beautiful Southeast Alaska island town. The size makes it easy to communicate with leadership and work on a number of different projects in varying fields and areas of interest.

    Cons

Small town means that everyone knows everyone else's business. A politically active community means that someone is always complaining about the job that Public Works is doing - "why are there so many potholes?" - when there are so many projects to work on.

    Advice to Management

Developing a substantial outline for temporary hires in the Public Works Department would be beneficial to recruit highly-motivated and skilled college-aged engineers for continuing employment with the City.

    Pros

Well known company in Lexington, KY, good money, always expanding, always busy, great food, and a great "after Keeneland" spot. Now that Drake's has opened, it's been even busier.

    Cons

The income is unsteady, but that's the restaurant business as a whole. The management team is nice, but disorganized for the most part. The schedules never come out until the Sunday before the next week (ie, the Sunday before the Monday you need to know whether you work or not).

    Advice to Management

Please please please figure out a more efficient way for employees to request off work. Don't be afraid to cut the floor. Employees feel like they have to come to the management to get cut. We hate coming to you as much as you hate us coming to you and begging to be cut.
