I worked at Situation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exciting clients in entertainment, great company culture, some solid perks (free tickets, food), work from home when you need to, portfolio building work

    Cons

Work can be overwhelming, you often feel rushed, lots of structure/process updates that can cause some confusion

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on training - especially as you grow.

I worked at Situation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun perks (tickets, team-building, snacks). Some fun employees.

    Cons

High turnover. Unorganized and constantly changing company structure. Low pay. Poor management. Employees are not valued and are treated like expendable resources.

    Advice to Management

Train or hire competent middle and upper management. Build up and listen to new and entry-level employees. Diversity the staff. Compensate employees fairly.

I worked at Situation (More than a year)

    Pros

Free Broadway shows and leftover food.

    Cons

Senior employees are like a little mob. Lack a proper HR team. Despite hard work and great amount of overtime, managment fails to acknowledge. Account team runs this marketing company, from strategy to media buying, even over creative VPs. Hard to grow, even harder to get payed accordingly. Full of egos, always focused on trying to be recognized as best company to work at, but far from it. Your job description will change over time. Smiles upfront and pointing fingers behind backs. People get fired in the most rude of ways!

    Advice to Management

Recognize the love everyone puts to their work. A little more diversity goes a long way.

I have been working at Situation full-time

    Pros

Great peoppe. Agency culture here is great and they do a lot of events for their staff. Nice perks.

    Cons

They do not compensate their employees enough for the amount of work that is demanded. Structure of the agency needs work and they often are having conversations about improvements, but it takes a long while before any action is taken or difference is noticed by those below the VP or supervisor level. They need more staff to help distribute the work.

I have been working at Situation full-time

    Pros

Great environment for those passionate about theatre. Cool perks such as free Dunkin, museum reimbursements, and unlimited sick/WFH days.

    Cons

Not enough knowledge of innovative tactics across the board. Clients are not diversified enough, so the work becomes mundane after awhile. Not enough diversity within the staff.

    Advice to Management

    Break the mold.

    I worked at Situation full-time

    Pros

Location? Some nice people. Mostly dead eyed fools.

    Cons

Build up juniors. Offer actionable feedback. Hire managers who know how to lead and not just delegate.

    Advice to Management

Bring Bazadona down a couple notches. It's a low-rate ad agency.

The new nature of the marketing business is constant change - Situation is no different. You have to be active in keeping up.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Situation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The fast-paced, always evolving environment really gives employees ample opportunities to grow with the company, as long as you're ambitious and keep up with trends that arise.

    Cons

Senior leadership isn't always on the same page, which makes it difficult to expect the rest of their teams to effectively collaborate and communicate.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example, and stick together as a united front.

"growing digital agency with live entertainment/attraction clients"

I have been working at Situation full-time

    Pros

Situation offers fun perks - free tickets, office events, museum reimbursement, etc. - and has a collaborative, upbeat atmosphere. A recent restructure of the 'chain of command' has created clear growth paths, and seniors actively look for growth opportunities for their teams. Digital continues to expand (content development, live streaming, 360, wearables) and Situation never shies away from trying to bring a new idea to life.

    Cons

"Following process" can be more like a guideline than a rule. If you like to follow very strict steps (and want others to follows those steps, too) to get things done, this might not be the right fit for you. If you enjoy starting with an idea and figuring things out along the way with teammates, this is your jam.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop middle management team and empower them to drive decisions for their departments and, as a group, for the agency.
