    Pros

A lot of work, but you learn a lot
This isn't a job for people who want to work 9-5 and work as little as possible. You will learn a lot about commercial real estate, as the amount of work almost requires you too.

    Cons

    Workload can get overwhelming

    Advice to Management

People that want to work hard will have numerous opportunities available for them.

    Pros

Situs is in the banking and financial services industry and are not considered a primary lender. Their clients are banks and those clients' back office services were Situs' front office services. So, among many other things, they provided the loan servicing for banks. Situs is a very structure company so if you are a Type A personality you'll fit in well there. Hours are long but the work is good.

    Cons

The corporate culture has changed significantly from 2011 when it was sold to Ranieri Partners. They in turn sold it to a private investment firm in March of 2015. Prior to 2011, the culture was much more family oriented but over the past 6 years that culture has changed to much more cut-throat corporate "watch your back" atmosphere. If you're Type A, this might work well for you.

    Advice to Management

Chasing dollars is business but don't forget the human side of things. Happy employees make for loyal employees who will be more proactive and productive. And this translates into stronger bottom lines. It's unclear if senior Situs management has ever understood this.

I have been working at Situs full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people in the office are great. from the recruitment phase, to the daily office interactions I love coming to work here.

    Cons

sometimes the work gets tedious, but that is nothing too big.

    Advice to Management

continue to have open door policies and allow younger employees to possible be mentored by upper management? to facilitate growth and upward mobility within the company.

I have been working at Situs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

New owner is mortgage legend Lewis Ranieri. Old owners where disconnected and irrelevant, no wonder poor reviews. Company has expanded aggressively in US and Europe over past two years and is market leader in outsourced due diligence and retained risk loan servicing and asset management. Client list represents top banks and private equity firms globally. Situs is a good place for those looking for career exposer and an opportunity to learn.

    Cons

Poor reputation of prior owners have been challenge for company recruiting in Houston. Company has 11 offices in US and Europe.....culture is progressive, educational and supportive. wish there was a direct program for equity ownership by employees, although deferred comp plan put in place in '12 is a big step in the right direction.

    Advice to Management

Toot your own horn a little more. You guys survived the greatest market downturn in modern history, and came back stronger than you were before. good job, glad to be part of the team!

    Pros

Excellent company to learn a great deal of information.

Your work and effort is noticed and rewarded with more responsibility.

    Cons

This company has gone through numerous layoffs in the past couple years. Some deserving some not. The pay is low considering the work load you are expected to handle.

    Advice to Management

To attract top applicants, you must pay a premium.

    Pros

Tremendous exposure to all aspects of the Real Estate Market. Small company doing Really Big things. Smart Management with a firm grasp on the industry.

    Cons

Pay and promotions seem to be based on politics. Working weekends are expected. Weak IT decisions may have seriously crippled the company.

    Advice to Management

Good job on growing the company. To keep growing you may want to upgrade to a enterprise level system and give higher compensation than your competitors.
