I worked at Six Flags full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great animal facility, decent management.

    Cons

Minimum wage, environment gets completely flipped very often, overly critical. Mostly seasonal employment means it is almost impossible to settle in a career with them. Little opportunity to advance.

    Advice to Management

Higher pay, less criticism, move away from seasonal employment for animal care positions to allow for room for growth and as a reason for employees to stay around.

I worked at Six Flags part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free admission into the park but even then wouldn't do because the park is so disgusting I wouldn't want to go

    Cons

Leads were in high school so they had favorites and formed cliques and treated most new hires like crap. Water was disgusting because during training they told us to pee in the pools and wouldn't let us have bathroom breaks. Lead (who wants to be a supervisor) made fun of other leads and lifeguards for being gay (grow up). Terrible management. Didn't sign up to be a janitor, if my clock says I end at 8 don't keep me until 11 to clean. Was always being threatened and yelled at for someone else's wrongdoings in front of guests by leads because they're immature and unprofessional. Had a kid with a scalp laceration and leads didn't even budge off their butts to help, fortunately first aid was walking past and heard my whistles, saw my cone, and the kids blood everywhere. Leads often ignored us, leaving lifeguards dehydrated, with angry guests, or left with 2nd burns because they wouldn't let them re-apply sunscreen. Dirty park, paint peeling, rust everywhere, filthy. Worst job I have ever had, mainly because of the teenagers who thought they were all that and owned the place.

    Advice to Management

    Hire better leads.

    Pros

Great people that can become lifetime friends.

    Cons

Favoritism runs rampant at six flags. Furthermore the managers and supervisors date their subordinates and then promote them.

    Advice to Management

Really take at look at your supervisors and their relationship to their employees.... Also promote people based on merit.
