I have been working at Skadden Arps full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits and vacation time (if you're able to use it).

    Cons

The morale at the firm is overall very low. Support staff is under-appreciated and their input on potential improvements not considered. There is, however, a lot of lip-service, if that tends to sooth you. If you're a smart, dedicated, hard worker, you will be taken advantage of.
Despite open talk about how many billions are brought in each year, it apparently does not affect support staff "raises" - those still seem to be affected by the recession.
There are supervisors and managers in place who really have no business being in charge of anything or anybody. Only those that the NY office can control and manipulate are put in those positions.
It's a toxic environment, with blatant breaches of confidentiality and displays of favoritism.
The focus at this firm is to follow blindly. Do not stir the pot with any wildly innovative ideas that deviate from the Skadden way, lest you be shown the door.

    Advice to Management

If you haven't gotten a clue by now, I'm not sure there's anything really to be said here.

I have been working at Skadden Arps (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice environment. Professionally run organization. All places should be run as professionally as this one is.

    Cons

It's hard to get in here full time because those who were able to don't quit a job like this.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the great work you're doing.

I worked at Skadden Arps full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good health insurance, ample PTO, responsive support staff, convenient office location in NYC, legitimately great holiday party

    Cons

The stresses you face as a lawyer at Skadden are well known. However, the marketing department is less visible but somehow far more toxic. The top dog sets the tone through personal insults (often about petty things such as personal appearance) and a blame-and-shame attitude that arbitrarily assigns fault and never examines processes to keep problems from arising again. The second tier of authority is made up entirely of those who either join in this kind of behavior or silently let it slide. That job was earlier in my working career, so I didn't fully understand just how juvenile and unprofessional this woman was. I'll miss the firm's generous benefits, but there's not a perk grand enough to ever make me work for this person again.

    Advice to Management

Maybe don't publicly ridicule employees for what they wear or weigh? Or publicly belittle and dress people down for minor errors that may, in the end, not even be that person's fault? Stop acting like the top tier of marketing department management is all auditioning to play Regina George in Mean Girla 2? Any of the above would be a big step forward.
