I worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Good work life balance for staff at a big law firm. I felt respected and appreciated by the management and the attorneys I worked with.

    Cons

No really good forum for feedback of supervisors, especially for very small departments.

    Advice to Management

Continue to reward employees for good work and they will feel appreciated.

I worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Support staff and attorneys are (mostly) nice. Generous PTO, good benefits.

    Cons

Long hours are expected, and if you refuse to stay you are looked down upon. No work/life balance. Most of the managers are always in a bad mood, really negative to be around and bring the energy down.

    Advice to Management

If you have to play favoritism, at least try not to be so blatant about it. Learn how to become more approachable and friendly, it will probably help your employee turnover rate.

I have been working at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Work/ life balance (in Accounting), benefits (Plenty of PTO, 401K, etc.) Departments are well staffed so there's backup. Everyone wants to help each other for the most part. Very professional atmosphere.

    Cons

No room for growth. Good place to retire but if you're still developing your career in Accounting, it's going to be hard here.
