I have been working at Skanska USA Building full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits offered by Skanska are great, not only the health benefits but the continuing education reimbursement plan also. Its a large and diver organization tries to take care of its employee during the good and bad times.

    Cons

The executive management team seems to be blind to the fact that our region is under preforming. We have many issues in Texas, starting with our upper management team. we have zero backlog and seem to be loosing money every year.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and make the obvious and needed changes. We have a lot of good people who are great at there jobs. We lost 26 people last year and 8 so far this year.

Skanska is a huge construction company where you can be placed on once in a lifetime jobs.

    Cons

Skanska is a large company so its easier to get lost or end up with a direct manager who is uninterested.

I have been working at Skanska USA Building full-time

    Pros

Skanska offers excellent benefits and supports its employees with sufficient training. The tools are resources are there to succeed.

    Cons

The cons would be that they do not have promotions close together. They are far spaced out and they really low ball when promotions are give. The work is overloading and unless you say something they will keep piling it on.

    Advice to Management

Giving fair offers to other Skanska employees than just higher management. They seem to offer them solid numbers but lack the same to PM's, PA, and PE's. I would suggest that a closer relationship with the employees and their PSG would be a standard.

    Pros

Opportunity for responsible tasks. Encouraging learning environment.

    Cons

Senior leaders have been around a while and are out of touch. Low morale amongst most workers.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your youthful employees. Start operating like a company in 2016 and not 1990

    Pros

Great culture with commitment to customers, employees and sustainability. Very ethical - The company does the right thing "when no one is looking". Very innovative environment. Always looking for ways to improve our operations and develop our talent. strong leadership team that has been in place for a while. excellent customer focus leads to lots of repeat business.

    Cons

sometimes manages to the "lowest common denominator". - which adds unnecessary policies and procedures. Needs to have more trust in their people and teams. Support services are sometimes given too much input over operations and project teams.

    Advice to Management

Trust your project teams and people to do the right thing - you can't manage out bad behavior through policies, procedures, guidelines, etc.
