I worked at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Creative environment, fun people, lots and lots of responsibility and production projects. Amazing seeing your work on store-shelves at malls.

I had a very positive experience here.

Loved their on site restaurant and facility.

    Cons

Toxic employees can ruin an otherwise great experience.

Travel to China is a drag, China sucks.

Super low pay makes it hard to stay here due to LA getting more expensive every year.

    Advice to Management

Pay more to your hard workers before they decide to quit.

Be more professional in your casual commentary, that goes for all departments at the company.

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employee discount, quarterly bonus, family/life balance

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations when it comes to cleanliness and stocking. Expected to maintain a spotless store along with 100% stocked bins and 100% priced boxes.

    Advice to Management

Have a better understanding for team members making an effort to meet expectations.

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Getting to know new faces by talking and just making friends.

    Cons

The challenges with working for sketchers is the other stores that are competitive with sketchers.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management for sketchers is Knowing your workers, Talking to your workers, Getting to know your workers and Just being there for your workers, Its the key for the whole entire sketcher store.

I worked at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Some people are super nice, helpful, easy going, great to work with.
    - Learn a lot, but depends on you and your project
    - Shoes discounts
    - Company is investing in technology and bringing new people who are smart and experienced in their field. New people that come in have a great vision and know what they are doing, but "old" people strangle them and do not let them do the right thing
    - Savva's is a local cafeteria with a great food, nice personnel and affordable prices (subsidized by the company)
    - Sample sales where you can get apparel at a very affordable price
    - Location of the headquarters

    Cons

    - People and politics!!! The company is investing a lot of money and efforts to catch up with the similar companies in the industry which means they hire new talents. Each department has some people who've been with Skechers from the beginning or for a long time or they just a family member of the founders. They taking up high positions, but this doesn't mean they are smart, intelligent, experienced or educated to honor it. New people have to deal with the attitude of the "olds". It creates bunch of politics, favoritism and toxic environment. "Old" people afraid to lose their place under the sun, they don't want to change, learn or admit that they are behind in their industry and the world. Therefore, they give very hard time to the new employees to the point that those lose motivation to work there. And if you want to work there you have to please them and deal with attitudes of the management.
    - There is NO PARKING! And they make you think that they do not have to provide one and parking is a benefit.
    - No remote work. Again with the old mind set, executives are very conservative and old school
    - Hard to communicate. Old people do not know how to use technology, they only know desk phone or email which takes them long time to reply anyway. You have to chase them to get your work done.
    - My manager was micromanaging my time to the point where he pointed to the door in the middle of the meeting! I want to think, not every manager is like that there..

    Advice to Management

Retire your old VP's, give the more experienced and educated people to shine.
Work on your marketing strategies and update your very old bad looking website already.
