I have been working at Skidata full-time

    Pros

I like the team I work with. Everyone is working together and getting along. You have the opportunity to travel to Austria once.

    Cons

It feels we are disconnected from the Headquarter. Communication is not transparent. It takes some time to get what we need from Austria team.

    Advice to Management

Make the communication clear and transparent.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great way to get on the job experience.

    Cons

Should not believe promises of travel or dire needed additions in work resources, as they will most likely never come or only come after much headache. Work/Life balance is not something they care to keep healthy. No room to move up, and if you do you will likely perform old job duties in addition to new job duties.

    Advice to Management

Provide needed resources to promote expansion.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

They have many clients so there's never a shortage of work to do. They're multinational so you know they will probably survive any individual recession.

    Cons

They do not pay well, and so to get any new employees they take under-qualified candidates with little to no experience. I fortunately had a bit of experience when I started working for them under contract.
After awhile, they increase your responsibilities disproportionate to your authority or compensation. For instance, they may suddenly insist you are on-call, and will not properly compensate you for that time.
I refused to go from contract to a full employee after observing how much remote (India, Czech, etc.) outsourcing goes on, then creating deception with customers to let them believe the work is being done in-house by Skidata people. I had to keep several e-mail accounts in order to maintain this charade on their behalf, and it was quite disconcerting.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together. Fly in coach, not first class, buy an A4, not an AMG, and pay your employees a real wage. Hire project managers who have experience um managing projects in the field they are hired in. Keep employees in the loop about the futures of projects and clients, and don't make them lie about who they work for.
