Pros
Prior to a shift in executive leadership, Skidmore was a great community. The benefits are great but employees stayed because it was such a great place to work. They used to prioritize family and that was worth it. Not anymore.
Cons
Sadly, the community feel has dissolved and many employees have left because they were either mistreated by leadership, or they no longer had work /life balance.

Pros
Skidmore is a nice community, both for students and staff. It is easy to feel part of the team at Skidmore, and to be proud of the work you do and Skidmore's role in the community.
Cons
Not a lot of room for job growth at Skidmore. Faculty positions may be different, but professional staff don't have much room for movement.
- Former Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Skidmore has a great system of communication and support. They train their workers well and have mentors/people to answer your questions while on the job.
Cons
Some of the management can take advantage of summer workers and be rude or make them do tasks that isn't their job.

Pros
awesome professors, understanding of work/school/life balance. decent pay considering $10 an hour is one of the better paid positions at skidmore.
Cons
no cons that I can currently think of, other than you really have to buckle down on time management skills. But this just forces you to learn how to do that and also prepare fo rgrad school.
