I have been working at Sky full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Reassuring focus on equality. Amazing working environment which makes for an inclusive, collaborative and fun atmosphere.

    Cons

Very little to say. Location is not central London, which may not be for everyone but does allow for a fantastic campus.

I worked at Sky full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, discounts, onsite gym and Halfords, remote working options, fantastic office (if you're in Osterley). Great tech and IT support. A lot of focus on technology and the end customer. Company values and initiatives seem like they want to do the right thing.

    Cons

Management styles can vary massively. It can be very hierarchical and some mid-managers will only deal with people they consider peers. It's such a big organisation that it can be difficult to find out who is responsible for a specific remit. Reporting can be patchy. Knowing you're working for the Murdochs can be uncomfortable. Some initiatives (e.g Ocean Rescue, bike trials) have a lot of marketing but not a lot of support if you want to get involved, so they can feel like PR events more than genuine company values.

    Advice to Management

Try and ensure more consistency in management style.

I have been working at Sky full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Sky appears to allow for a good work-life balance. They are very flexible with respect to working hours and working from home.
    - There are some incredibly talented people in the business

    Cons

    - All the downsides one can imagine for a big business. Total lack of transparency all through the business. Career development is very much down to politics and who you report to, rather than fairness.
