I have been working at SkyWest Airlines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The travel benefits are excellent but I have come to find out what really makes SkyWest stand out is the people and the culture.

    Cons

Not a dang thing to complain about. I would recommend this company to anybody and everybody. SkyWest is the best.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up

    Pros

Growth, teamwork, advancement, stability, and core values.

    Cons

A rigorous schedule at times, and being gone from home. However, it comes with the territory of being an airline pilot.

    Advice to Management

Continuing to stay union free and having an open door policy for all employees.

    Pros

The people! The benefits, the CEO and VP's are very friendly, they will wave and smile.

    Cons

The only problems I had were with my management.

    Advice to Management

Remember that your employee's are more than just a number.

I have been working at SkyWest Airlines full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great personal and friendly atmosphere. The people are competent and willing to train on any aspect of the job. They make you feel like you can do anything. Even after a hard day's work, you are well-rewarded with praise and continuous satisfaction.

    Cons

Pay is minimal but is counteracted by flight benefits. If a part-time job or full-time fun is what you are looking for... Skywest is the place to go. Unfortunately it can be a strain if you are trying to supplement family income but there are many employees who do this anyway because of the flexibility with seasons.

    Advice to Management

Management is actually very involved in every day dealings. This company has an 'open-door' policy. If you have advice, give it to them!

I have been working at SkyWest Airlines full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not a bad stepping stone into the aviation industry. It's a non-union company that offers its employees flight benefits with partner airlines so its great for anyone that loves to travel. Performance bonuses are given each quarter. Great people to work with. Three day weekends every week.

    Cons

Politics here and there but that's just expected. Pay could be higher but lots of overtime is available. Small pay raises once a year but very job stable.

I have been working at SkyWest Airlines full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This company is run by really smart people, who seem to be very aware of what's going on the industry. They really have a great out look on their future, which really helps being confident about a career here. Especially in an industry that is so unpredictable.

    Cons

The con not only about working at SkyWest, but working in this industry in general, is not having a real schedule. You are on reserve for however long it takes to hold a line, as of recently most of our Flight Attendants have been waiting about two years to hold a line.

I have been working at SkyWest Airlines full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits (Health, 401k, profit sharing) including flight benefits. Great people to work with, including the managers who go out of their way to make sure we have what we need to get the work done.

    Cons

Flight benefits are nice, but it seems to be getting harder to get places. Other than that, though, a great place to work.
