Advice to Management
Skyport Global offers robust customer focused services in the business continuity and disaster recovery arena including the Oil and Gas and State and Federal Emergency Management sectors. Skyport has been given many awards, in recent years including being rated the best Teleport for satellite services. Because Skyport is a company of less than 40 people, it offers employees an opportunity to participate in several areas normally not offered in a larger company. This allows employees to gain experience in areas normally segmented within a company.
Because Skyport Global is a small company, resources are limited compared to larger companies it is competing with. This makes the challenge of being competitive even greater especially in the primary North America market where services are focused. In recent years there have been plans to consolidate the company with other companies to make a larger company with combined resources which would offer better leverage and competitive placing in the market. Unfortunately, expansion through mergers and acquistions have not taken place as quickly as would have been liked, which limits the companies market reach and service offerings. Without the consolidation Skyport is very limited in regards to its ability to grow.
Advice to Management
For the most part Management is doing their best to grow the company. However they potentially could be more successful if they focused more on providing training that would maximize the results they are looking for. Unfortunately with the focus primarily on acquiring other companies less energy has been spent on developing the company within.
