    No different than any publicly held company that has shareholders to answer to, there can be ups and downs - just the nature of business

    Advice to Management

    Continue the good work with growing your people, succession planning is key. The way to retain key talent is by providing a unique company culture where we are committed to internal mobility, creating an environment where people see a future for themselves, not just a job or stepping stone to the next company.

    For Executive Management excellent strategy in continuing to expand and diversifying the business , love the IoT and continuing to empower the wireless networking revolution and be a market leader.

    I also really enjoy the communications meetings and keeping employees informed where the company is at (successes and opportunities of improvement) and having the opportunity to provide input and feedback. I am very proud to work for and recruit for Skyworks Solutions Inc.!

    Pros

    You'll meet a few really good guys here, so when you want to found a startup you will have the right person

    Cons

    H1B employees work so hard that covers the mistakes and low efficiency of management.

    Pay is under market level, new employee will get higher salary than the top engineers(not manager) that worked a few years.

    Dictatorship is sometimes good for the company/board to make profit, but not good for engineers.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing. They won't change. They charge $1.4 for a coke, more expensive than supermarket, do you think they really care about employee?

    Pros

    Skyworks gives annual stock awards to all employees from the senior manager level and up (and sometimes to those below). Because the stock price has increased significantly over the past few years, my annual comp has been much higher than I had anticipated when joining. And because the company is growing, I have taken on greater responsibility than I might otherwise have gotten.

    Cons

    Could be because of the fast-paced environment, but manager feedback seems lacking in quantity and quality. Also, compared with other tech companies, Skyworks' maternity leave and vacation policies are lean and outdated.

    Pros

    Stability- you will always have a job because there is too much work to do.

    They care enough about their image to pay for someone to counter all the negative reviews.

    Very routine day to day work

    Enough room under desk to sleep

    Seen as valuable "resource"

    If you can buddy up with management, you will get a promotion

    Cons

    Toxic work culture. Too much work and not enough employees. Lots of burn out. 12-16 hour work days are expected. They hold classes on stress and time management, but no one has time to attend.

    Promotions based on favoritism and not performance or qualifications.

    Very little time off. Most time off is spent working remotely.

    Work life balance non-existent. Work related phone calls as early as 7AM and as late as 1AM.

    Wages are very low, far below industry standard. Regardless of what the PR rep on glassdoor says, the pay is very very low.

    Work is not challenging. When asking for more challenging work they give you more work instead of new tasks.

    It is hard to keep good talent. Structurally designed to keep wages low. Management cannot give promotions even if they want to.

    Pay for performance is a joke. Once you are in Skyworks you are subjected to only cost of living raises. The only way to make more money is to leave.

    Departments within Skyworks often create more work for each other that doesn't serve a purpose because they do not understand basic technical RF engineering. Quality department is a mess. They lack the technical expertise to add value to the company., but instead become a burden to the other departments who have to deal with them.
    Promotions based on favoritism and not performance.

    Skyworks lacks good leadership. Extends into senior management. Constantly understaffed for projects.

    Most managers micromanage. This really removes all motivation there is to work.

    Advice to Management

    I would be shocked if they read this.

    Hire more people to help understaffed departments. Be more proactive in anticipating needs instead of reactive.

    Invest in your employees and work to employee good talent!! Pay fair wages!!

    Instead of paying someone to lie on glassdoor to save your reputation, actually earn a good reputation.

    Work on making promotions fair.

    Focus on your employees and the stock will go up.

    Accessibility and openness of management.

    Cons

    Archaic systems, tools and reporting. People spend too much time pulling data together and talking about it and too little time driving for results.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in tools and systems to make data more transparent and readily available to working level associates as well as front line leaders so that effective action can be taken quickly.
