I have been working at Sleep Number by Select Comfort full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There's definitely a good amount of money that could be made( depending on skill) do enjoy the free bed! have a pretty awesome manager. District manager is nice. Love to see the people's reaction when the first time they lay down on a sleep number!

    Cons

Unfair vantage given to other store across town givin both the new i7 and i10 when we only have the i10 and on company website does not even show that we exist. At the Iowa State fair they brought other employees from other districts instead of having employees from the district that the state fair is located at! The insurance is not great and the rewards program known as WOW is a joke(people prefer money)

    Advice to Management

It's not always about the bottom line( but I do agree it's very important) you definitely want to take care of your employees so that they stick around good pay is not enough loyalty is a must!

I have been working at Sleep Number by Select Comfort full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a great place to kick start a decent sales career. Sales goals are realistic, and pay is very good for a retail job. If you are good at sales, a year or two experience of working at sleep number would look great on your resume.

    Cons

No growth! You are stuck in the same position for years and years!
    No intellectual stimulation.
Retail hours... working every weekend gets very old, very soon. Especially if you have kids.

    Advice to Management

Take the best employees and make them district trainers, especially in slower months.

    Pros

Good pay, good people, fexible schedule in certain departments, good benefits, depending on department possible advancement in career.

    Cons

Some departments were stagnant, very corporate, some management not on same page, oyher than that a very good place to work.

I have been working at Sleep Number by Select Comfort full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Make good money doing very little (if you are good at what you do). Store can be a relaxed fun place to be. Great product that makes it easy to sell. They do train and if you follow the process you WILL sell.

    Cons

Commission based sales so you need to be able to sell. You are expected to help bring in sales through follow-up calls and some call lists (maybe 100 calls a week). Like in all jobs there are good managers and bad ones. There are limits to how much you can make since the company determines sales goal and you are paid base on percent to goal.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to reward you best sales persons. I have seen so many VERY good sales people leave because they did not feel valued and because they were not able to continue to grow as store goal were increase above obtainable numbers or more people were brought into the store so they were not getting the time with customers to sell.

    Pros

Love the people and the culture. The mission-driven, customer-focused making a difference in the world is alive and well here. And I feel like my values match Sleep Number's -- I'm expected to make this a better place to work.

    Cons

We're on a journey and we don't always live up to the values we believe in. When we makes mistakes, though, we apologize and make them better (whether for team members or customers).

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Sleep Number by Select Comfort full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, easy sell, great teammates, competitive district, hearing that we're improving people's lives with our beds is nice. The beds literally sell themselves

    Cons

Store is almost always dead. I sometimes go an entire 8 hour period without seeing one customer. Hard to make good commission. Home Delivery sucks so much. They almost always are the reason I lose the sale post transaction.

    Advice to Management

Close up dead or dying stores.
