    Pros

Great commission%. Leader in industry . Great support to help develop yourself. Career path available. Alone 80% of the week. No up system. Plenty of opportunity to grow

    Cons

It's retail sales so you work long hrs 10 hrs per fst weekends..holidays... evenings..no salll commission ..I really don't have anything bad to say.

    Advice to Management

More weekend contest with rewards like letting us leave early...

I have been working at Sleepy's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay biweekly like clockwork. Beautiful showrooms. Fast delivery to customers.

    Cons

Sales people are micro-managed, and driven to let nobody but the letter carrier walk out without buying something. Job is "at will" meaning either party can terminate with or without reason. You don't get paid your earned commissions if you quit or go on leave; the company keeps your earnings. Prices are the highest in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Shifts are 11.17 hours/day; 8.17 hours/Sunday. Sales people are doubled and tripled up on holidays and weekends, splitting commissions in half or thirds among all partners.

    I worked at Sleepy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

money was good, sometimes there was the potential to make a good salary as long as you pretty much gave up on having a life

    Cons

no holidays with family the management is cold and unfeeling, you have ridiculous sales goals and get in trouble even if there is no traffic into your showroom

    Advice to Management

treat your employees better allow more than one day off a week not as much pressure knowing you can only sell to a person if they come in, eliminate competition with other sleepys

    I worked at Sleepy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Liked working alone 95% of the time. I didn't have to split my commission which was low to begin with!

    Cons

Bad location, slow traffic, low income area, awful commission pay out. When you can't pay bills with 55 hours a week.....well you do the math!

    Advice to Management

Salary plus commission. No draw! Work 8-9 hours a day with every other weekend off for family and life outside of work!

    Pros

Not many anymore. Pay is on time. Have plenty of time to look for other jobs. You get to help people get better sleep. .

    Cons

Management are dishonest sheep. Company treats salespeople like garbage. Been with them for a lot of years and the company continues to digress from what it once was. They fail to get traffic in stores. Have too many stores that shouldn't be open. For the last two years all they've done is lower commissions and get rid of bonus. Your expected to vacuum the entire showroom and clean the restrooms a suit.I'm sad that I gave them as much time and effort as i have since I now realize it was all for nothing. Management changes so often that you just continually start over proving your worth. No real advancement is avaliable. Most dishonest company i have ever worked for .

    Advice to Management

Listen to salesforce and save company.

    Pros

Decent pay if you are in the flagship store, other than that, no. Normally you are in the store by your self and unless it's a holiday it is very slow traffic (maybe none at all) so if you like to sit in one spot all day doing nothing then this is great!

    Cons

Super Long hours so you can't have a family. Decent pay but it is only because of your draw. They threaten to fire you because you go into draw because sales are impossible sometimes.

    Advice to Management

    Sighs, where do I start?

I have been working at Sleepy's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No education level required. Micro management at a minimum.

    Cons

    12hr days
Internal competition among other stores and sleepy affiliates.

    Advice to Management

Stick with the core values! When you change your environment drastically based on what t our competition is doing you become just like them. The key is to attract and retain talent, not "yes men" but talent. If not the talent will go to your competitors with all your dirty secrets.
