I have been working at Slomin's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Senior management has a clear vision and path of what the company's outlook and goals are. Everyone is very friendly and share in the same values and goals. From what I see, if you work hard, you can see rewards.

    Cons

It's fast moving. As long as you can learn to adapt and move quickly, you should be fine and be successful.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I have been working at Slomin's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been working at Slomin's for a little over two years now in the sales department. Going into a new job is always intimidating, but here it wasn't as nerve-wracking as expected. Everyone is great to work with and most of the employees know the ins and outs of the company making it easy to get help from almost anyone. There are bonuses/incentives, benefits, PTO, and time off for the holidays. Being a family owned company they can do things the way they were originally intended to be done and do it right the first time. Overall I like working here and hope to stay with the company as long as I can!

    Cons

Of course, every company has their downside; we do have a hard time communicating and time managing certain projects. They still get done on time, it just makes for a more high-stress work environment. Otherwise the good makes up for the bad and I'd recommend this company to anyone.

  6. "Outside door to door sales"

    I worked at Slomin's full-time

    Pros

For what the job was, the money wasn't terrible.

    Cons

Selling oil based on a good price point wasn't too ridiculous but expecting to sell a home security system at the door is a bit absurd. It's the type of sale that deserves a pre-set in home presentation.

    Advice to Management

Stop having reps knock on doors 3 hours after the sun goes down! It's creepy for all parties involved. Weekly/daily threats of job loss for lack of team production is a downer, walking around in pouring rain or sub zero temperatures is taxing enough.

    I worked at Slomin's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, The pay was decent and you could get bonuses. The people are friendly.

    Cons

This job is not a secure job. They just spring things on you last minute and fire you. It's sad because the people come off so nice and genuine, but they know what's going on and don't keep you in the loop. I would only tell someone to make some money with this company short-term, but be looking and applying so you leave before they fire you.

    Advice to Management

Let employees know exactly what they are getting into and be honest if things are about to take a turn for the worst.

    I worked at Slomin's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work was steady and busy some great people to work with good benifits hrs are good when they let U have it.

    Cons

No loyalty they don't appreciate anyone it's all about how much money they. Can put in there pockets the ones who are screwing them are the ones who get more not a good place to work they'll get rid of people once the spring comes and long term employees worry every day if it's there last not a way to live they love to mess with people's lives they all get a big laugh at lunch time your better off collecting unemployment then working there.

    Advice to Management

Remember who got you there and who was loyal
    To you
