I worked at Smart Circle for less than a year

    Pros

Fun work environment if you are comfortable talking to random people in retail environments. High energy and performance based work. Younger co-workers with a lot of ambition.

    Cons

Long hours, usually 1-2 in the morning then travel 10-60 mins to retail store, then 8hrs on your feet. Work every weekend, usually get an off day or two twice a week. Weekly work schedule was usually unknown until the Sunday prior.

    Advice to Management

supposedly a 6-9 month program, i progressed faster than everyone and still was at the 9 month time before the Executive of my office closed his doors to pursue another career.

I worked at Smart Circle full-time for less than a year

    Pros

interesting, fun, co-workers. You learn sales 101 and discipline... if that's what you need...

    Cons

Lie to you so much so you work unpaid hours. They suck you in promising hard work will get you promoted to be an "owner" which gets paid a lot. It's all a scam for you to work harder and unpaid hours and to brainwash your fellow co-workers. They will not promote you regardless how good you are or how hard you work, it is somewhat by luck. you can earn more from other places doing that same effort.

    Advice to Management

Learn ethics. Stop with the cult culture. Just make it straight forward, do work properly or get fired,. MAke employees happy, not brainwashed.

I worked at Smart Circle full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Get to meet hard working passionate interesting people. Get to try interesting products. A bit overhyped, but you should expect that from sales. Get to learn sales 101, which is good enough to be called a good salesman. Although it isn't the best sales training possible like they claim, and they are excruciatingly strict on their rules about following their guidelines on it.

    Cons

Lots of brainwashing. Cult style business environment where they force you to act and think like they do or you get snubbed out. They mix truth with white lies and straight out lies, so that you really never know the whole truth, which is they give you empty promises to get you to work hard. They pit a bunch of people and tell them if you act with the business cult standards (talk/act/work-extra-unpaid-hours like them...

    Advice to Management

Learn ethics. You are a human first before a job. White lies, straight lies, and manipulative tactics are a bane to this world and your actions need review to how much you actually gain from it to how much you actually screw people over. You take people's passion and work ethic to suit your own profits when those people have much more potential for the world with other legit opportunities. Be ashamed and leave your...

    Pros

Substantial growth PERSONALLY. Goal oriented. Perfomance based. Anyone could be hired as long as you clear the background check. Opportunity to travel and work in other offices.

    Cons

Vague explanations when asking management questions. Inadequate attention for staff from management. Unprofessional work romances/secrets. Heavy hours, time-demanding and insufficient paychecks.

    Advice to Management

Please put in the time to know your team on a personal level without involving any romantic attractions. CARE for your staff and WORK WITH THEM, rather than tell thing them to "deal with it."

I have been working at Smart Circle full-time

    Pros

    - HUGE growth experience within yourself - Goals based - Entrepreneurial focused - Opportunity to travel - They hire anyone

    Cons

    - Very very misleading from the moment you join in - Zero empathy towards their team members and makes you feel as if you and your goals are good enough if personal issues arise. - High turnover rate - Truly "takes a special person to complete the program"

    Advice to Management

Care more about your team to keep them motivated.

    Pros

On the plus side, there are lots of travel opportunities! You can visit different cities and sell products inside of Sam's Clubs and Costcos away from home. There are Quarterly National Conferences in either Dallas, TX or Newport Beach, CA and there's a yearly retreat, usually in a tropical location. Between that and the conference calls from the company's millionaire vice-presidents, Smart Circle certainly does a great...

If you happen to bring up that you've seen a bad review, they'll offer you a variety of well-rehearsed rebuttals as to why you've seen them. "Not everyone has what it takes" / "No one fails happily" / "Not everyone is cut out to be an executive manager" / "It's like law school, not everyone becomes a lawyer!" / "Even your FAVORITE restaurant has one or two bad reviews!" are just a few that I was instructed to use. Pros

You do learn how to sell just about anything. Also, if you're an introvert it's a good way to make you break out of your shell because you will stand at a booth and annoy SAMs club members all day. I hate having to give pros for this company but glass door requires it.

    Cons

Where to start... I worked there since mid January at an office in Hoffman estates, IL. You don't realize exactly how much lying goes into this business until you reach "leadership" (which is not really a promotion. They want you to feel like you're special). Once you hit "leadership" and get the interview you realize just how much BS they filled you with. You do not get paid as much as they say and you start to find...

    Pros

Made good friends but we quickly realized we were getting scammed out of our time, effort and money.

    Cons

Little pay for many hours worked. Taught how to manipulate and pressure members of Sam's Club. Manipulated to accept the position with company. No PTO - which there should be for the amount of hours worked. Thrown into positions because retention rate was deplorable. This company is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Stop stealing people's time and money. Be descent human beings. It's not all about being at the top.

    Pros

So a few review down (2, I believe) I wrote a glowing review explaining the cons of the company Smart Circle. I had just been promoted and now see the trap I entered. Pros: Great way to learn new tasks for your resume. You get a few really cool products for wholesale. The sense of overwhelming ecstatic relief when you quit.

    Cons

Everything Else. My boss on several occasions forgot to pay me until I had nagged him for weeks. He wouldn't text us or let us know our schedules until the morning meeting at 8:45, meaning that even on your DAY OFF you had to wake up early and go to the office. And when I say "day off" I mean, that's really only if you're lucky. I worked seven straight days on a few occasions. The "promotion" to leadership is really...

    Advice to Management

You need to hire enough people at each office to give your employees a few days off. My biggest problem was management. If my manager communicated clearly and gave us a clear vision of what we were working toward, I might have stayed. Management also needs to accept that some clubs/markets simply are not profitable for every product, and strategically plan shows so it is possible for employees to make a liveable wage....

I worked at Smart Circle full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You will get tons of knowledge with sales, recruiting, inventory and meetings.

    Cons

You will work about 12 hours a day average 6 days a week, if you want to be taken seriously about becoming an owner and having your own business. You will NOT own your own business, you will franchise a piece of the business by attaining your own office, however, you will still have your manager and VP's monitoring you all the time from dusk till dawn, this is conference call since 7am and emails through about 11pm ....
