Now's the Time
Feb 29, 2016 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This company is on it's way up. They are growing with a lot of name brand clients and are a force to be reckoned with. Their product and philosophy is change Hiring for all companiesr product and philosophy is change Hiring for all companiesr product and philosophy is change Hiring for all companies that are open to being ahead of the curve. The people are passionate and believe in the product and it's future. If you want to be a part of something special and make a difference early and often, now's the time.
Cons
It is a start up, so you are responsible for a lot. It requires you to take initiative and drive items from start to finish, this is not for everyone. Leadership is swamped so if you are looking for mentorship, look to peers or second level management.

Pros
Onboarding has gotten better and better for new hires, fun team events and the product is very promising
Cons
The CEO has created a toxic culture where if you speak up, be prepared to get canned out of nowhere. He may let it go the first time if you're a top performer, but he'll keep an eye on you. Don't rely on People Ops to have your back either - they are powerless. Employee turnover is above average.

Pros
Company has clear goals and everyone is more than ready to help. Great team atmosphere with practically everyone sharing the same goal of progressing the product/company
Cons
No real cons to speak of. Work life balance can be a struggle at times but that's generally expected of a startup

Pros
1- Great product architecture that has the company poised to gain increased marketshare by continuing to support the needs of global enterprise to startup companies across all industries. Innovative and focused product team that continues to deliver new and innovative features and functionalities. 2- Solidified organizational structure. Lots of changes in a growing company but now has in place great executive leadership and structure across all functions that is providing a move unified and cohesive vision. 3-Good People. I believe there are people here that want to build a company/product that truly supports our customers Hiring Success and helps connects people to jobs.
Cons
1 - Hasn't had internal streamlined processes which can burn people out/cause frustrations. 2 - Lots of internal change. As with any growing company there is continuing change in all areas of the business as it looks to scale and optimize. This last 2 years there has been a lot of reorganization, org structure, territories changes, etc. 3 - Just building out the People function of the business which has been lacking

Pros
Focus on innovation - Quarterly product releases Brilliant product management team Great implementation team Very reactive technical support team Very good FAQ/Well documented Help Center ... But only in English API integration helps 3rd party integration Overall good team spirit Remote work culture Customers in all industries and all company sizes ... but some too small to get real value from product Financial stability
Cons
California decision making center - hard to provide fast response when customer issues happen outside of US Shortage of resources in Europe - Recruitment plan is insufficient to support growth Misaligned success & sales team on customer strategy No feedback culture with teams. Hard to tell what to improve. Lack of transparency on strategy/key figures/finance Confusing communication/marketing on Marketplace Needs a brand new Reporting module All new modules seem to have been designed for US market only Lots of EMEA customers are lost with new features as product changes too quickly - Need a localized help center (in at least 3 european languages). Non US jobboards do not like principle of SR standard API so won't integrate GDPR compliance really needs improving

- great culture - strong inclusive leadership - diverse teams - competitive comp & bens - market leading solution. SmartRecruiters is a company like no other. From the top down, people are supportive and empowering. The products are market leading but it’s the people and the leadership that make this place a great place to work.

Pros
- Awesome people. Team is truly one of a kind—they're bright, hardworking and committed. - Great product with strong potential to become THE industry-leading TA solution. Product team consistently delivers innovative releases that continue to disrupt the industry. - Lunch catered 3/5 days and plenty of snacks - Convenient location. HQ is located steps away from BART and dog-friendly!
Cons
Compensation/benefits could be slightly better. As a lean startup, still trying to work through processes and operational kinks; but overall, not many cons.

Not for everyone, but it's hard work changing an industry
Aug 13, 2015 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great team of people who are really passionate about changing recruiting. Management team with proven record building great software companies and are obsessed, in a good way, with scaling and process. Well funded from top tier VC firms. Amazing product that the clients love and is incredibly well supported. Cool office in SOMA, great location. People work ridiculously hard. Awesome customers.
Cons
Not a lot of cons. It's a typical venture backed software start up in a lot of ways. Working long hours, failing fast, changing a lot and on a dime. It's not for everyone but if you like that adventure and journey you'll love it here. It's not for the faint of heart or for people that can't take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.
