I worked at SmartestEnergy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fast paced with opportunities for progression if you’re willing to put the hours in. Everyone seems a bit maxed but but there are opportunity for flexible working. They are very open to continual professional development and the new HR team are making a difference.

    Cons

Too many internal meetings. Complex processes that are confusing and sometimes duplicative.

    Advice to Management

Refine internal processes so it’s easier to get things done internally.

    I worked at SmartestEnergy full-time

    Pros

A lot of young colleagues which made the environment quite fun. The HR keep trying to improve the company culture. Not particularly stressing. Good work-life balance.

    Cons

The middle management is quite obstructive. Too many layers of management, in a team of eight you can see five line manager to get your VP. Crazy.

    Advice to Management

Do not trust the middle management and get rid of all these pseudo managers

    Pros

People who work here do want the company to do well, great location

I have been working at SmartestEnergy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Mostly good people working in all locations. Good central London location. Flexible working hours.

    Cons

Cramped London office, soon to be even worse. Pay and benefits are below average - for most people. Single track mind - whatever customer wants... but forget to resources needed. IT development is shockingly bad. Always hires from within, which is not always a good thing.

    Advice to Management

    simple, resign.
