I worked at Smashburger full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This was a great job to gain knowledge of industry: if you want to see what actually goes into making a successful food business, this job will give the skills necessary

    Cons

Long hours; and once you're on salary, no one cares how much you work.

I worked at Smashburger full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy job for teens/first job Good burgers

    Cons

Inflexible management Long hours Understaffed for busy shifts (despite requests for more staff) Constant staff turnover Lack of accountability of problem staff members, but incredible scrutiny on the ones who do care (incredibly backwards)

    Advice to Management

If you promise someone a raise, dont make them come to you a month later to tell you they didnt get their raise. Thats your job. If you offer open applications for a promotion, do not let one candidate tell you that another is not interested without asking the candidate in question. Hire competent staff, and treat them well so they dont turn over. Invest in the people that will make your business successful,... otherwise they will leave.

I worked at Smashburger for more than 5 years

    Pros

Food Is Amazing, Their road trip so employees can grow and take the steps to advance in the company! and the Employees are great

    Cons

the long hours, not caring for employees that work hard and not to get paid what they are worth, paying employees that are terrible more than the ones that deserve it!! I was pd. as assitant 11.80 in the end and shift leaders seem to be more deserving and is receiving 12.00 to start me I got 9.50 to be a shift and I only made $2.30 cents more in the almost 3 years of being a AM

    Advice to Management

start caring about the employees as it stands the staff is miserable and unhappy due to the fact upper management don't give a rats butt about them just themselves and their happy bonuses before you can get that big fat bonus you have to make your staff love their Jobs before you can expect a great bonus!! your GM's and AM's would care if you DM would just care a little instead of yourselves!!! remember follow the... high fives and the fourth one is " It Starts with Me" take your own advice and look in the mirror and see that our staff cant follow the high fives if you all don't, the guest always come first but your staff are the ones that can leave a lasting impression when the guest leave a smashburger!

    Pros

Great food you will be proud to serve. Great benefits package.

    Cons

Long hours, extremely demanding, no support in certain markets.

    Advice to Management

Pay more to employees in the Bay Area so you can reduce turn over which leads to better food and service and will lead to more sales.

I have been working at Smashburger full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great food, Great environment, easy to get promoted.

    Cons

Long hours and no breaks. Also, employes do not understand this isn't your typical "fast food" joint, so hard work is needed and a lot of people give up to easy without taking full advantage of the company and seeing how far they can go.
