Just train your employees. That should be a no brainer.

    Pros

Many of the coworkers are friendly. The starting wages are not bad.

    Cons

They don't tell you will be working at three in the morning till the day before (first day). More then one person trains you and mostly not the manager. Manger wants things done almost completely different then the person training you. They don't tell you important things then yell at you for not knowing. Don't bother to train you on things you don't need to know in the moment then expect you to know them when they come up. wont help with new hire handbook and wont give time to do it. They don't care if you get gun access and make you beg other people to sign in there names for a new employee who might make a mistake on there account. Not enough hours to finish work load even for senior employees. Higher up management only cares about cutting hours and cost even at the expense of cleaning properly. Managers openly say they don't know anything about your work and leave you high and dry if something goes wrong. Department head over worked and unable to manage properly because of higher ups.

    Advice to Management

Know about the jobs you manage and don't runaway when there are problems.

I have been working at Smith's Food & Drug part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are awesome people, very friendly. I love the people I work with even the manager are easy to talk to.

    Cons

I wouldn't mind the short hours if they were say three 8 hours shifts but when you work 5 days a week for barely 20 hours it makes life very hard, because the shifts are at different times of the days and days off change every week having a second job is next to impossible.

    Advice to Management

Take into consideration that your employees have bills to pay and can't survive with a full part-time job. If you are only able to give them 15-20 hours a week then work with them so that they can get a second job to pay their bills.
