I have been working at Smith's Food & Drug full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pays pretty well, good opportunity for advancement

    Cons

Company often puts its bottom line above employee wellbeing, and corporate walks always cause frenzied panic in the stores because of the (often unreasonably) high standards. Also, if you're salaried and value work/life balance, be prepared to fight for it. There are tight controls and micro-processes for every little aspect of your job, not a lot of room for creative freedom or for things to not go as planned.

I worked at Smith's Food & Drug full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good pay for the position Great coworkers Earlier depaetment closing hours than the rest of the store

    Cons

The ecommerce department has very unrealistic goals - and they expect you to meet these goals even if it requires you to regularly work a shift without a single break.

I worked at Smith's Food & Drug full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - You work with some great people - Minimal experience or education needed

    Cons

    - Below average pay - Unsafe working conditions - Inconsistent work hours and days off. No balance for family life. - Enforces employees to work long drawn days with No/minimal breaks; sometimes no lunches (which in Nevada is illegal) -Union benefits being stripped away slowly over time; i.e. 10 paid holidays to 4 -Employees are mandatory to work holidays; Calenders are blacked out. -Department Managers have their employee hours cut to compensate for store/corporate bonuses. -Constant corporate store visits, that enforces extreme long hours of work to display "Dog and Pony Shows". Hours then have to be adjusted and taken from other days throughout the week, causing short handed days -Skeleton Crews
