    Good people at lower levels of organization.

    Cons

    The senior leadership is new to Smiths and lack sound strategic direction, creating busy work that impedes critical business functions. The top-down approach adopted by the new leaders leads to barriers in communication that cause delays in our ability to adapt to rapidly changing business needs.

    There are still some good people at lower levels of the organization.

    Cons

    The new CEO has no medical device experience and lack ethics. He is bringing in a leadership team to gut the company that shares his level of experience and ethical behavior. The company has been mismanaged to the point that it appears private equity firms won't even buy them! There are many promises made with all of the "right" things being said, but it is all smoke and mirrors. Approach with extreme caution!

    The people are great to work with. The hours are nice and the availability for overtime was wonderful.

    Cons

    Not much room for advancement past a certain level. HR's open door policy is not much of an open door

    I have been working at Smiths Medical full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Personally, my pay and commissions are acceptable. My benefits are acceptable . The company tries its best and means well. I do like the people that I work with. Very hard working and dedicated employees.

    Cons

    It's a shame that someone deleted every undesirable comment posted between 11/19 to the present. That should tell you something. The current rating is totally skewed to make it look better than it actually is Folks, to summarize, the company is in a state of confusion and flux. Management being let go and their positions not being filled. Same story, can't release products on time. Support staff is too lean. Training is poor and incomplete. The backorders on critical products is absolutely unacceptable. No plan B. If Plan A doesn't work.....Oh well!!Company out of touch with the market, as to what it takes to compete and win in today's selling environment . The 15 year old selling strategies strategies are just out dated. Very hard to trust management. My advice to anyone considering a job here is this: Stay away until the company is on firmer soil, or gets purchased. Not a good time to work here. Managements job is to tell you what you want to hear.
