Why does MBB pay Data scientists who do ML so poorly? The average DS comp is 250-350K with a few years of experience but MBB only pay 150K maybe. Top tier tech companies like Airbnb, Snap, Netflix would pay 450-550K with 4-5YOE and a MS degree. Why do MBB not pay top compensation for Data Science/ML? Seems like consulting in general doesn’t even pay 25% for these skills which are rare to find yet they’re getting paid 🥜 only 150K-200K max at MBB at the consultant level. How do they retain talent?

      Pros

Fun, helpful and smart people all around you. The working environment is pretty open and flexible. Good place for ambitious youngsters.

      Cons

Parking spot is too far for the working area, and the traffic is pretty bad after the office hour.

      Pros

      1. Building and improving a great product with a fast growing user base. 2. A top-notch engineering environment. I enjoyed working with a lot of brilliant colleagues every day. 3. Actively listening to users' feedbacks and reacting to them very quickly 4. Excellent working environment, right next to the Venice Beach. I've worked in a number of companies before and this is the best working place so far.

      Cons

Not much that I am aware of. Probably try to find more good people to join the company, and work on this great product together.

      Content Analyst Intern Experience

      Pros

Great work environment for the most part. Friendly, diverse, cooperative team. Work itself was usually interesting. Entire team was allowed to weigh in on the direction of the department, at least before a major hiring phase.

      Cons

Complete absence of a performance management system for interns. Little to no opportunity to develop internships into a full-time offer, even while impressing most of the full-time employees with level and quality of work. Graveyard shifts at times. Full-time offers themselves based on pay-hierarchy, which itself was based on date entering the company. If you didn't get in early, the salaries themselves were insulting.

      Pros

~Fun work environment on Venice Beach, lots of free food and tech, and good exposure to working with senior engineering and Managerial teams.

      Cons

~More than 80 percent of the company is on contract 3-6 months max ~Most managers are trying to figure out their own roles and way to advance, not too much focus on team advancement ~All Teams are project based, thus the high contractors, if you teams work doesn't get accepted you most likey will get cut from the company.
