I have been working at Snowbird (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ski perks, working in the mountains.

    Cons

It's a resort, you work hard. You aren't working there to become rich.

I have been working at Snowbird full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A lot of good people and the mountain is great. Snowboarding can't be beat, there is so much terrain that it would be hard to see it all. There are some employees that are trying to change the culture in a positive way. Good benefits after 1 year.

    Cons

Management don't have a clue. New, "paid parking" for all guests and probably employee's (when...TBD...). Always aiming for a 5 star guest when no one of the sort would want to ride or stay there. Ignoring the guests that are loyal and have always been there. Give special rights to a small handful who pay "Way too much" for a ski pass so that they can abuse the other guests. It almost seems that the management has been left with the petty cash to make all the bad decisions they want...... Will the new owner change any of this, yet to be determined.

    Advice to Management

Figure it out or go away. The world is passing you by and the party is over. Stop treating this place as if it were your personal candy store and start looking out for the people who make it work or at least the people who come here to enjoy it.

I worked at Snowbird full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Un-paralleled snow and fantastic terrain. Ski season last 6-8 months. Most of the worker bees do a fantastic job, without them the resort would be lackluster at best.

    Cons

Lacks diversity and vision. Seemingly managed by the "good ole boy" network and sometimes hypocritical in managerial decisions. Recently the owner, who claims to be a nature lover and outdoorsman, attempted to develop a open face coal mine in a pristine salmon fishing area in Alaska.

    Advice to Management

A very close introspective look would reveal a lot.
