I have been working at Snyder's-Lance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You can easily get a job in the factory or any job with this company that pays under $17 a hr for a black person, if your white they will pick you over any qualified black or Mexican

    Cons

The corporate jobs, the good paying jobs that's $20 and above you will not get hired if your not "culturally fit" or white. You will not get hired if the salary is too high for a black person. (I'm white btw)

    Advice to Management

Hire people equity based on knowledge and experience, not who will be your buddy or make people feel less threaten

    I worked at Snyder's-Lance full-time

    Pros

    Good benefit and good pay.

    Cons

They don't treat the employees with respect. One day off a month. They don't care about the employees. Quick to right you up.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better and give them more respect if it wasn't for your employees you wouldn't be able to keep your product going out the door and making money.

    I worked at Snyder's-Lance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    You have a full-time job.

    Cons

This company does what they want. They make up their own rules and who they apply to. During busy season you may as well live at the plant, working 60+ hours a week, 12 days straight and with only 2 days to rest. This can last up to 4 months as it did this past "busy" season.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are PEOPLE and they have a FAMILY that they care to spend time with.

    I worked at Snyder's-Lance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The medical benefits are really good. Some of the IBO's are really good guys. Those are the only pros I can think of but there is a 20 word minimum.

    Cons

If you are salary you can expect 50+ hours a week but make sure your guys don't work any overtime. Never seem to know what's on sale until it is too late to get it in. Absolutely no regard for the employees from this company. Anyone below zone manager doesn't count and are looked upon like poorly trained monkeys.

    Advice to Management

Management is completely out of touch with warehouses and IBO's. Can't give advice to them because they just don't care.

I have been working at Snyder's-Lance as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Meet a lot of nice people. Set own hours for the most part.

    Cons

Overall the whole IBO program needs to be over hauled so that the IBO doesn't get screwed over from day one. There is almost no support from District Management or from S&L has whole. Unrealistic pay. What they say you'll receive and what you really get is two different things. Better have a secondary job aval. If you build it up you make less.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue. People can't live off of $300.00 and maintain a business.

    Pros

Great products. IBO's are great business partners.

    Cons

To many new items throne at the IBO's with no clue on what they go through in caring these items on the trucks.

    Advice to Management

Managers area to large. No back up plans for open route, other then just have the DM do it, on top of every thing else he has to do.

I have been working at Snyder's-Lance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you need money to pay off bills it's good because you will have no days off.

    Cons

Very Poor management at the lower level. No people skills or care if you never see your family because of the hours. I'M LEAVING after 9 months of hell.

    Advice to Management

Offer a working supervisor position to the people in the dept. Where the help is needed. You can't drive a cab for 3 years and then think you can drive a tractor trailer with just a week or two of walk through training. Time for change.

    Pros

The pre merger Snyder's employees are the best you'll ever find. Post merger not so much.

    Cons

Terrible communication, no personal skills, top heavy with pay and bonuses, 10% of the people do 90% of the work, regional managers are out of touch

    Advice to Management

Most of them should go. The CEO is only looking out for himself and the shareholders and has no concern for the IBO's. He is ok with stealing 5% of their money when they sell showing his true character. It starts at the top, everyone I've ever talked to in the company despises him. I guess when your pay package exceeds 3 million and you leave crumbs for the rest you get judged accordingly. He and his cronies ruined a great company. Now he and his minions will collect their bonuses and stocks and cash in when Coke or another corporation buys them out. Keep watching, it will happen.

    Pros

Reasonable pay to start out for area

    Cons

Horrible leadership! Change the rules to suit the circumstances. Ripoff hard working people of their rightful pay. Mandated overtime 12 hour days 6 days a week to keep job

    Advice to Management

Find a manager with some morals
