I have been working at Snyder's-Lance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent pay.
    Good people.
    Growing company.
    Acceptable benefits

    Cons

    No work/life balance
    Unacceptable workload
    Total lack of communication
Middle management never given tools to succeed.

    Advice to Management

Try to get the different departments to communicate. Sales/warehouse/production are all working towards different goals.
Cut rate carriers are killing supply chain reliability.
Don't rely so heavily on salaried employees yo get the work done. 60+ hours a week of work will burn anyone out

I worked at Snyder's-Lance as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pay if you are good with inventory and numbers. You get some wonderful tax deductions as well. You get to meet many interesting people

    Cons

There is absolutely no benefits whatsoever. I was lucky to get a grand total of 25 days off in the entire 3 years that I was employed with them

    Advice to Management

Take care of your Ibo's. They are the ones making your product successful. When they don't have support, and are required to work hours that would be illegal if they were working for anyone but themselves it never ends good.

    Pros

Great brands and in the right space of "better for you snacking". Opportunities to make an impact. Good people who are generally willing to help.

    Cons

Still many silos and it can be difficult to get everyone on board to make a change. Company is in transition and still working to integrate several acquisitions.

    I worked at Snyder's-Lance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There was little micro managing, at least in my department.

    Cons

It's a very political environment, where the saying "it's the way we've always done things" reigns supreme. Favorites are played and paid accordingly.

    I worked at Snyder's-Lance as a contractor

    Pros

Some of the employees were very caring/helpful. The biggest issue would be with your DM. They don't have direct dealing with distributors, so dont care as much.

    Cons

For me, it was getting product consistently. My route is not near a warehouse, so I did not pull my own order. It was pulled by someone in the warehouse and trucked to my bin. Only, it was usually wrong in some way. Lots of "out at warehouse " marked in order slips. Makes it hard to actively sell with that going on.

    Cons

There are some cons in working every job.

    Advice to Management

    More opportunities for career advancement.

    I worked at Snyder's-Lance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good future, always putting money into the company - purchasing to increase market - lots of hours, if hourly employee - overtime is available year round

    Cons

As they grew - they forgot about the employees that help put them there - you are a number only, and easily replaced. Benefits change every year, and are less..bonus programs for supervisors - but numbers are rigged against you.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees - every year surveys are done, yet the same problems exist - you expect the supervisors to fix what the upper management is ignoring

I worked at Snyder's-Lance (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits where great and most of the leadership was a pleasure working for.

    Cons

Few days off and very selective with punishments for minor site infractions.

    Advice to Management

Be more far across the board when it comes to punishments for infractions.
