    Pros

Smart Hardworking Employees and Brands with lots of potential

    Cons

An unscrupulous, demotivating management team focused on themselves, their egos, and their own personal gain. Top down unrealistic goal setting with insufficient resources (people and financial) provided to reach said goals. Lowest employee engagement scores in the industry and no action taken or plans put in place to improve them. Dangerously high, and continuous turnover at the C-level ranks. Work life balance is non-existent. Meetings routinely set during lunch hour and after 5PM. Mindless e-mails sent at all hours of the evening and on weekends with responses expected. Devoid of any sense of company pride or "team spirit". Lack of alternative CPG job options in the area keeps far too many unmotivated, disengaged employees in place. In word, this place is a "nightmare"!

    Advice to Management

The Senior leadership team should reassess what it is doing. The atmosphere it has created in the company is beyond toxic. They need to fix the profound disengagement throughout the entire organization created by an incomprehensibly impossible workload. Stop trying to get 60 miles per gallon out of an organization that is designed to get 25. Their collective arrogance and ignorance of the capabilities and limits of their own organization is astonishing. Also, they need to admit, as other companies have, that the current go to market strategy is antiquated and unable to drive the necessary growth. If they fail to increase engagement, organic growth will be impossible.

    I worked at Snyder's-Lance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The medical benefits are really good. Some of the IBO's are really good guys. Those are the only pros I can think of but there is a 20 word minimum.

    Cons

If you are salary you can expect 50+ hours a week but make sure your guys don't work any overtime. Never seem to know what's on sale until it is too late to get it in. Absolutely no regard for the employees from this company. Anyone below zone manager doesn't count and are looked upon like poorly trained monkeys.

    Advice to Management

Management is completely out of touch with warehouses and IBO's. Can't give advice to them because they just don't care.

    Pros

Get to sample some of the tastiest snacks in the snack industry. There is something for everyone in the line--from salty to sweet.

    Cons

Company is expanding quickly and it is difficult to determine long term goals. Communication between executive leadership and the field isn't always the best.

    Advice to Management

Improve communication between leadership and staff. Be open and clear about goals both short and long term. Consider impact of quick changes.

    Pros

Smaller company compared to competition, so able to make a big impact.
The CEO is very involved and is the kind of person that knows you by name.

    Cons

Worked far too many hours for far too little appreciation and compensation.
Great innovation that was NEVER supported with customer education so the items failed before they even had a chance.

    Advice to Management

Help employees have a work life balance by learning to help them manage their time. Don't take on a lot of new responsibilities as a company without planning for increasing staff!
