      world of slackers and politicians

      Pros

      good pay, benefit, secure position

      Cons

very hard to see anyone who is actually working. No one actually works and the responsibility goes to contractors. the work SoCalGas does is spotting their faults or blame them for something that goes wrong. Relax, no one will be fired even if they do very bad jobs. the way of succeed of this company is how well you kiss the butts of politicians in the company. hard workers won't be shiny at all. Full of corruptions and politics. Honest people are not good in this company. only politicians are promoted.

      Great Company

      Pros

Great company to work for. Union is a little bit weaker than government-run utilities but stronger than most private-run utilities. Pay and benefits are excellent and the work is super reliable and consistent as it is a utility.

      Cons

I wish the CEO and the top executives didn't take home millions of dollars a year and instead took home maybe 1 million a year just because that pay could be spread out more amongst the employees.

      Pros

socalgas is a very solid company to work for. Management is very flexible with employees work a schedule. All new hires are properly trained and management is always aware of employees progression with their role. The company as a whole pays employees very well. They also are hiring a-lot of external candidate to bring in their outside expertise.

      Cons

Cannot think of any at this time.

      Excellent Company to Work For!

      Pros

There’s a reason there are so many lifers at SCG. The company culture is amazing, the benefits are excellent, and the work-life balance is ideal. I’ve been with the company for almost 8 years and started out as an engineering intern and got a full-time offer. The company is great because there are so many different departments! There are many opportunities to learn and try something new. It’s very common to transition around departments and gain experience along the way.

      Cons

The company can be conservative in some ways.
