    Societe Generale offers a great perspective in terms of careers mixing the culture of Europe and the US

    Sometimes the mix of all the cultures can be hard and the financial world can be a little bit too fast.

    Great people - everyone helped each other.

    Cons

    Early morning deadlines since HQ is in Paris. Many of the great people were laid off.

    Pros

    Great culture, very good work life balance. Good exposure to global cultures and nice HR support along with good projects. There is lot of emphasis on training people, developing them and allowing them flexibility and freedom to choose where they want to be in the company.

    less salary as compared to other companies

    The best reason to work here is to work with managers and directors who are committed to helping grow your career.

    Cons

    One of the challenges is that pay increases don't match what you can get on the open market at least not as fast as one would hope.

    Advice to Management

    Some advice to Upper management would be to continue to help make the NY office feel as important as the Paris office.
