    Pros

Great culture and environment to work on. They really want you to learn and facilitate your learning by offering many different trainings.

    Cons

Things can take a while to get done because a lot of things have to go through Paris. They have been getting cheap because of budget cuts.

I have been working at Société Générale full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Vacation time. You can show up late to meetings or work and no one cares.

    Cons

It is very difficult to advance in the company if you don't speak french. The management seems to have an attention disorder as they go from one thing to the next with no focus or end goal in mind. One reorg after another. The department management is immature and unprofessional. Don't expect the management to be involved in career development. Training is available, and internal moves are possible but it is 100% on you to discover what would be good for you. Management will not be involved with your development and they do not see anything wrong with this.

    Advice to Management

Learn what it is like for the staff. Based on what you say, you think you know. Based on what you do, you do not.

    Pros

Great people, a few odd balls, but overall a wonderful company! Benefits were great, compensation was fair, and the resources they provide to employees are A+. You cannot fail working for this company.

    Cons

None, I never had an issue working for this company

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Société Générale full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None - benefits are decent but the work culture in America is one of frustration and complacency. Terrible training for junior analyst and obscene micro micro management. Awful place to start a career.

    Cons

    Terrible culture
    Lazy management
Awful back and middle office support
    HR is a mess
    Entrenched employees and horrible training
    Lots of micromanagement
    No prospects for career growth

    Advice to Management

Either change or be happy losing lots of young talent and being stagnant

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

Very close to the business, dynamic environment, opportunity to learn a lot as the staff have to cover many tasks along a specific workflow - good work/life balance, decent benefits

    Cons

Poor compensation level with rare salary increases even with good performances/promotions, complex IT workflows and processes that lead to spending many hours troubleshooting, too many tasks poorly outsourced or offshored - lack of recognition from business or management on achievements - too many decisions going through headquarters in Paris with little autonomy for US staff

    Advice to Management

    NA
