I have been working at Sodexo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sodexo is a large company that has a lot of resources. It's located all over the world and employees about 50% of the registered dietitians in the US. This makes it really easy to reach out to anyone if you have any questions about a certain area of nutrition and/or if you need help on projects that other accounts may have already done. They are really great about paying for majority of registered dietitian fees and dues each year, in addition to allocating an education budget for RD's to use on CEU's. This could be up to an addition $500-$1000 that does not need to come out of your personal expenses. They have pretty good health insurance coverage and overall benefits options.

    Cons

Although they continue to push the importance of work, life, balanced, it is much easier said than done. Tend to expect more out of their employees, with less staff in order to please their clients. Overall pay could be a better.

    Advice to Management

Sodexo employs over 50% of the Registered Dietitians in the United States, which demostrates their ability to monopolize the salary of a registered dietitian. Dietitians continue to stress the importance of self-advocacy for increased pay; however, if RD's could get a huge corporation, like Sodexo, to increase the starting salary of a registered dietitian Nationally this could greatly increase the medium RD salary nationwide. Ultimately, this would demonstrate the instrumental role nutrition plays in everyday life, clinically and non-clinically.

    Pros

Opportunities abundant if you work to generate exposure for yourself and consider inter-division placement

    Cons

Sodexo is generally beaten at the bid table. SO few wins. Results in managing expenses by the penny, instead of managing sales in the dollars. Management by fear of risk.

I have been working at Sodexo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pretty decent benefits. A great place to learn and grow in the corporate sector.

    Cons

Same salary for same positions, even if other sites require more of your time, energy and skills. Sodexo doesn't compensate if you go back to school for and earn a higher degree. Clients tend to look at you as second-class citizens. Extremely heirarchial.

    Advice to Management

It's time to look at your talent as assets and not just another number in your pool of 300,000+ employees. Train them appropriately (not just online videos). Pay them based on their experience and expertise, not on a dated one-size-fits-all pay scale.
