    Pros

Global company with lots of room for lateral as well as upward movement. Wonderful benefits. If you work at HQ or a regional office, it's a really nice work environment. Training is abundant and encouraged. Development plans and employee evaluations are taken very seriously.

    Cons

While they are very generous with vacation/sick/personal paid time off, they are probably a little low on salary. Because of the size of the company, there are more levels of middle management than I've experienced elsewhere.

I worked at Sodexo (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Sodexo offers opportunities for go-getters without college education to move up throughout the Vacation and sick leave are separate and generous. Charitable and volunteering opportunities abound.

    Cons

Health and life insurance are limited and expensive, salaries can be low. Lots of extra hours are required, although the company pays lip service to work-life balance. The major con is that constant, bewildering reorganizations and swiveling policies make for an extremely stressful environment without trust.

    Advice to Management

Calm down, run the company based on data rather than allowing carping executives to set policy and push departments into constantly swerving to stop the backbiting.

I have been working at Sodexo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on the department, they are flexible, decent 401k match, average benefits. Great for people who do not want to commute to DC.

    Cons

Stagnant pay raises (2% for above average rating), not much room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent. Give employees opportunities. Hire from within.

I have been working at Sodexo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have had some flexibility for family-related matters when needed. Work is flowing so job security is good. Strong focus on diversity.

    Cons

Over-worked constantly, and when the workload is high, they do not provide sufficient resources, so quality suffers. Advancement and promotion (at my business unit) is minimal. High-turnover.

    Advice to Management

Compensation should be on par with industry competitors and personal advancement and development needs to be supported more.

I worked at Sodexo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company with a lot of benefits. They provide a nice package of benefits and lots of training for managers and above.

    Cons

Very heavy corporate hierarchy with everything being a push to position yourself or our project and a fight for budget.
All of the service sites really run the business and the corporate team tries to herd the cats in a positive direction -- hard to do.

    Pros

Ability to learn multiple facets of marketing including social media, advertising, and relationship building.

    Cons

Goals are to drive financial performance, which is great. Yet, when rewarding employees for driving results, the company falls short in "sharing".
