I have been working at Sodexo part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is family oriented and some days are better than others.

    Cons

Management is condescending and treats the students badly. No accountability or oversight of managers. Minimum wage job but expects a salary work ethic. Managers are not understanding of situations the students experience that may impact work performance.

    Advice to Management

Put yourself in the students shoes. Many members of management have never attended college so they are not empathetic. Give the same respect you expect.

I worked at Sodexo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The only pro I can think of is I no longer work for them.

    Cons

The management is selfish and treat employees very bad. It took 4 years before we got a raise. I talk to former employees and they haven't received a raise since then.
They have the contract where I work now, I don't work for them. They have secret Sodexo management meetings and do not invite management of the company that holds their contract.

    Advice to Management

Get real, you will keep losing more employees and contracts unless you stop lying about employee input meaning something. Your food is okay but your management is full lying manipulative, selfishness. You are one of the reason Unions still exists!

I worked at Sodexo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are none. Low pay for what you do. Job description is nothing like what you are expected to do say in and say out.

    Cons

Too many to list. This is a horrible company to work for. You need to know somebody to move up. If you want to transfer to another account be careful your supervisor will trash you.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging and get a grasp on reality

I have been working at Sodexo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get a paycheck. They are willing to move people around for a better fit. They will hire anyone. Good first job.

    Cons

No organizational skills at the top. Lots of unpaid time off. They will hire anyone. Management is totally clueless and has no experience in actually doing the work they are telling people to do.

    Advice to Management

Get some actual real world experience.

    I worked at Sodexo full-time

    Pros

Was allowed to have a flexible schedule to accommodate my needs

    Cons

HR department at headquarters make it impossible to have any authority over your own staff. The employees get away with anything and manager are not empowered nor encouraged to do anything about it.

    Advice to Management

Allow Managers at their own sites to make the decision about when it is appropriate to fire an employee.

I worked at Sodexo part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have non as a black female

    Cons

Everything very unprofessional. discrimination is allowed there and a lot of harassment for speaking up for yourself especially if you're black. People of color civil rights are being walk all over there on a daily basis.and there not nothing being done about it.

    Advice to Management

Needs a over haul when it comes to Management the all need to be fired. A whole new diverse management team needs to be put in place or the University needs to contract a better contractor for food service.

I have been working at Sodexo (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working with difficult menus to provide nutrious and delicious meals for students. Interactive relationship with clients needs and expanding knowledge of food allergies. Satisfaction when mastering a new area of work.

    Cons

Very high volume demanding stressful work. Employees are not treated well at my company. Many times we are expected to create meals from a recipe and do not have ingredients.

    Advice to Management

Clear direction and leadership from all members of management. It is very difficult to be told different procedures by different managers. Some sort of employee incentive to reward for hard work. When morale is low so will be production. It is important to recognize that every position is needed and appreciated. A team must work together towardsa common goal instead of forced to work against each other for sake of getting off the clock before you reach overtime. It is really an awful feeling to work a 12hr shift only to have your overtime cut later in the week.

I worked at Sodexo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros for this place

    Cons

Sexual harassment runs rampant. Worked allot harder than the rest of the crew. Then they cut my hours. Management didn't want to manage and everyone else did. If you wasn't in the managers little circle then you got treated like crap plus low hours. Pay was 8 a hour with no benefits. Our location failed inspections time after time.
