I have been working at Sodexo full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

401k matching, LifeWorks is available for employees and their family members, opportunity for growth, sodexo has locations all over the place.

    Cons

Untrained managers, they are so strict on cutting labor that they run skeletal crews and it's too much for the employees.

    Advice to Management

Care more about your employees. They're the ones earning you your bonuses. Don't be afraid to actually help your employees instead of watching them go under.

I worked at Sodexo part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly staff and management. Works very well with students and very flexible with time. Will find you hours when need loves to push you forward towards your goals. Management makes it feel like family.

    Cons

Not enough upward mobility for college students. Most jobs where way out of state and none really close. Also for the work many workers do they are understaffed most of the time due to it being food service. Its a tough job for lazy people.

    Advice to Management

Management should do their best to take pressure off of workers. But also the workers should realize the job they sign up for before taking it. With it being food service and customer service a boosted morale for workers go a long way. Happy workers equal better business.

    Pros

    Big Corporation
    Great employee services
    Great Benefits

    Cons

Not a lot of growing opportunity in client locations
No transition plan for full time staff

    Advice to Management

Management should be more aggressive in taking care of their full time staff when they close client units. I really wish to stay in Sodexo via a transfer, but there are no fitting openings (Accounting & Finance).

I worked at Sodexo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I lead a diverse team of over 100 for 7 years. It was interesting & I learned a lot.

    Cons

Excessive hours. Sprawling workload. No support from superiors. Bad attitudes from superiors. Lack of involvement of superiors. Lack of back up from superiors when needed. Low-balled salary. Poor raises. Promises of raises that were taken away after they were supposed to have taken effect--for multiple managers in unit (company wide for that matter), not just myself. Demanding without appreciation. Any recognition given quite obviously posturing. Last paycheck messed up four times, and was short changed by benefits department.

    Advice to Management

    Be honest.
    Be respectful.
    Be responsible.
