I have been working at Softway full-time

    Pros

Great, warm people across US and India. The hospitality and graciousness across both teams is noticed from your first day. Eagerness to learn and improve at organization and individual levels makes it palatable/possible for positive change and growth. The current efforts to improve processes, collaboration and tools across critical functions will allow for empowerment and decisiveness at all levels within the organization...

    Cons

Not really cons, but with any growing/changing environment, longer hours are necessary on some occasions (which the CEO does not want to be the norm). With new process comes change that requires new ways of working and collaborating (breaking habits and perceived comfort/ease). Client deadlines/requirements require flexibility and sacrifices at times, which may not be ideal or the best solution for the project.

    Advice to Management

Keep changing and learning. Stay focused on the outcomes (business and client) and talent. Discipline, transparency and empathy should continue to be the trajectory for success, not hierarchy or closed-door policies like other businesses.

I worked at Softway full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some days the CEO doesn't curse at you in meetings.

    Cons

The upper management is completely unprofessional. Expect to be ridiculed, yelled at, or cursed. You can also look forward to petty emails about the condition of the refrigerator with demands that you meet to clean it (which you may not even use). If you're looking to work here expect low wages (they like to take advantage of new graduates) & little benefits. If you see any good reviews you can assume they're written...

    Advice to Management

Quit trying to make everyone miserable. Get over yourself, you're not a large company and with the way you treat employees you never will be. Quit paying peanuts and taking advantage of hard working employees.

I have been working at Softway

    Pros

The company is very friendly. All the employees make an effort to know each other and I can say that there isn't a person here that I dislike. We all work together when needed and its a huge team effort. The company recognizes hard work and dedication, if you ask for a chance to prove yourself the leadership lets you take that shot. Also if you fall they help you back up.

    Cons

We have some aggressive goals and plans that cause extra hours to be worked. I don't truly feel this as a negative since all of us are working hard as a team to accomplish our goals. Late nights aren't the best but we are usually rewarded with the results afterwards.

    - Lots of talented, dedicated employees capable of great things - The production team could not be more friendly and family-like - The company is often offered high level opportunities in it's client-base (but...)

    Cons

    - Below entry level industry standard pay regardless of how long you stay (by design) - Lots of powerful (often unwarranted) egos in management - Management is disorganized, inexperienced, unreliable, absent, and seemingly unmotivated - No room for career growth - No room for skill growth - Chronic fluctuation in workload - Skeleton crew - Not respectful or considerate of its employees - The company is crippled...

    Advice to Management

Better communication and holding yourself accountable would do wonders for the company. Be more transparent. Follow through with what you say you're going to do and the teams will trust you more. Realize the amazing teams you're sitting on and utilize, respect, and compensate them accordingly. Value and execute on legitimate opportunities when the come through the door rather than trying to 'just get it done'.

I have been working at Softway full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Everyone at the office is fun and friendly, with a very youthful atmosphere throughout. With all the different projects going on, there's always plenty to share and plenty to learn from. Everyone pitches in to get things done, and it always feels collaborative and positive; even when things are tough. Management included, everyone genuinely cares about their work and each other.

    Cons

There's not a lot of experience throughout the organization, and things can get hectic at times. It definitely takes a proactive and adaptable person to succeed in the environment, as things are always changing and problems will come up. Things are done more organically than procedural, and it can be hard to keep up.

    Pros

Great people all around. Creative/animation team members are some of the most talented people ive ever met. Great projects from time to time.

    Cons

Senior management is terrible. CEO is a yeller (He will get in your face). Most of the directors are inexperienced. The expectation is you work long hours. Some employees work days and nights, including weekends. Pay is way below market rate. The talent level of the management team is lacking. Most don't come from top schools or have advanced degrees. That's why they're paid low wages as well and believe they have...

    Pros

I have been with the Softway for a long time and have seen the ups and downs due to recessions. Even during the most difficult of time Softway has never abandoned its principles and always supported the employees.
