I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I've had a great experience at Sogeti, getting several different technology stacks and opportunities during my tenure here. Good support from the local leadership. Great 401k match (150% match of your 6%), and increasing time off.

    Cons

Corporate isn't always transparent when it comes to dates things are happening, but it's usually minor things.

I worked at Sogeti full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Great 401k matching. - Decent salary.

    Cons

    - Terrible PTO setup (If client company is off, then the consultant is forced to take PTO which in some cases doesn't allow them to work in the red.) - Several major failures with regards to work/life balance. - Healthcare plan is abysmal. - Notable issues with dishonesty from some managers and failing to follow through with promises.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great career growth and opportunities, it's a good place to jump start your career at a higher level. The company offers a competitive benefits package with best in industry 401k match, strong bonus program and a community culture. Leadership does a good job of having events throughout the year to help feel more connected the company and to colleagues working at different locations.

    Cons

The match has a wait period on it, you have to be with the company for 3 years. While the bonus program is very achievable to get rewarded extra dollars, it's very difficult to get the $24K. The organization of the company is also confusing, being one of many market units under the greater Capgemini Group.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good 401k match Lack of accountability from disconnected management team Very easy to get a job here

    Cons

This is glorified staffing. Their "delivery" model is to increase bill rates for clients while offering little to no raises or bonuses, and cutting already lean teams leading to further burnout. There are some very unprofessional people in sales that are embarrassing in front of clients and lack basic social skills let along professionalism. They also openly push consultants to get higher bill rates, and if you don't, this will come to bite you if you are expecting a raise or promotion

-Base salary may not be too high with fewer opportunities for advancement -Being on the bench between clients

I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Very good 401k matching (but only pays out once per year).

    Cons

Sogeti US is a business unit of Cap Gemini in the United States. There is a Sogeti in France, but you never hear anything from that Sogeti. Cap Gemini and Sogeti US have different business models, separate IT infrastructures, separate leadership, separate HR organizations, different sales and delivery methodologies, and the list goes on. Every week or two you will get some kind of "leadership" email from some VP at Cap Gemini that has no connection or context to your work or culture at Sogeti. It's a challenge to be at a "company" (Sogeti + Cap Gemini) that is so disconnected and dysfunctional.

I worked at Sogeti full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Sogeti tends to do long-term consulting jobs with large corporate clients. This leads to above average stability (for a consulting company) when you are on a contract. There is typically very little overtime required unless you are climbing the corporate ladder or something went wrong on your project. It is usually a 9-5 work day. The benefits were pretty good when I left. A strong 401K match and a profit sharing plan with an HDHP that Sogeti paid for about 60-70% of the cost.

    Cons

While I worked there the benefits seemed to get some kind of major cut every year during employee appreciation week. Which yes, this was extremely tacky. They also gave out good news and gifts during this week but all of the more cynical consultants were very wary of employee appreciation week. Sogeti It is hard to have a strong corporate culture when most of your employees work every day at the (many) different client offices.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Sogeti is very focused on growing the individuals who are also willing to invest in themselves. As long as you are putting in your own effort to grow your skills, and satisfy the clients, they will provide the opportunities for you. I think too many people get stuck on the idea that a company should give all the opportunities to everyone, but Sogeti tends to match the effort and energy the individual puts into their career. There is also a large variety of activities and opportunities within the company depending on where you are (location and experience). - Reasonable Pay (location, level, and drive dependent) - 401k matching @ 150% - Generous PTO - Yearly Trips for top performers (Hawaii, Aruba, St. Thomas, etc) - Performance Bonus Plan (Or Comp Plan for some positions) - Low premium on Insurance Through my time at Sogeti, I have grown from a developer, through team leadership, Architecture, Client partner, and even national solution architect. I have been able to switch roles any time I wanted by having a conversation with management, and putting in the effort to learn the new role/technology/skillset/etc.

    Cons

    - You need to be in charge of your work life balance: It's Typical of Consulting. - You need to manage your own growth. Promotions and opportunities are not given without your effort - Sometimes without a good people network, it can feel like you are isolated from the exciting projects. - Clients sometimes think that we are disposable resources they can try to abuse: It's Typical of Consulting.
