Pros
  • Excellent work life balance with work from home option (in my project) (in 45 reviews)

  • 401k match is good, even though it is paid only at the end of the year - 9% for 150% match (in 68 reviews)

Cons
  • Hard to maintain a work-life balance as there are several out-of-work events that you are highly recommended to attend on a monthly basis (in 22 reviews)

  • Bonus program is a big joke because it's fully controlled by the head of the unit (in 35 reviews)

I have been working at Sogeti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tuition Reimbursement ($12k per year). Since you are employed by Sogeti and not the client, you are paid regardless of being on a project or not.

    Cons

150% match on 401K only is granted after 3 years of employment. Therefore if you leave the company at 2.5 years, you will have NO match on 401K. Low sense of Sogeti community.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free coffee and food from clients, not even sogeti

    Cons

Dont have office as such, Poor management, No job security. YOU DONT HAVE CHOICE OF YOUR WORK/PROFILE. IRRESPECTIVE OF YOUR EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BE ASKED TO DO ANYTHING THEY WANT. IF YOU SAY NO YOU WILL BE FIRED. Full of politics, they dont think about the employee. All they know is their business. No humanity

    Advice to Management

Employees are not slaves, treat them better coz they treat your clients who makes you and your business. Worst Career opportunities I have ever seen in this consultancy.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Used to have good benefits

    Cons

Short sighted company, its not a big company like they project (a Capgemini company)
You will get fired before they announce the bonus, ie towards the end of the year. They dont like to share the bonus so they will save it by firing you.
Look at the New York unit, they fire their resources one by one each week towards the end of the year. No matter what you have done and how loyal you were to this company
All politics and no benefits anymore, If you are a hard working guy/gal, thats not at all enough here.
If you are planning to join, please think 10 times as the moment your project gets over, you will be fired (as they operate as individual units, they dont have a great client base like you would guess from a company like Capgemini)
New York - New Jersey unit is the worst, do not join this unit. I was fired as they couldnt find a project for me (not my fault as I was a good tester with over 10 years of experience).

    Advice to Management

You are in service business, people are your resources. Why are you firing them before end of the year when you are at fault of not able to find the project? Beginning of the year you will have the requirements, wait and be a people's company than "I want my bonus, so am firing you once you are on bench". This will give a very bad vibe and talented resources will not join your company. Remember, your clients will also see these and wont select you for their projects. Work with the resources who gave their valuable hours for you to make money.

I worked at Sogeti (More than a year)

    Pros

Pretty standard consulting organization. If you have this experience, you can seek out answers, connections and solutions

    Cons

Very marginal support from the new-hire pricess. The organization is very willing to gain the benefits of a consultant's hard work and overtime, while doing what they can to minimize compensation. After starting, promised benefits for compensation for extraordinary overtime had limits applied to Sogeti's significant benefit.

    Advice to Management

When you get a first-year employee who is performing above expectations, make sure they are rewarded for their hard work. I put in nearly 300 extra hours during my first 5 months, was promised some recovery time off, and that promise was ignored by onsite and regional management. Regional management lied about the commitment and HR did nothing to resolve the situation (no escalation). For the overtime, I only requested 2 weeks paid time off.

    Pros

Brilliant 401k plan of 150% match upto 6%, no premium on health insurance. Pretty good benefits

    Cons

Account Execs go for easy projects or those they have to work the least to get, rather than for the really cutting-edge ones. Most people are smart and deserve better and more challenging projects.

    Advice to Management

    Get better account executives!

I worked at Sogeti (More than a year)

    Pros

The more the company has centralized its processes, the more it's been able to cull the antics of rogue geographic offices; this is a benefit that stabilizes the company overall and makes it a safe place to work, so long as you're not a consultant on the bench.

    Cons

Because each geographic office operates in its own silo, the work can be isolating. In some offices leadership is a men's club without much room for female leadership or growth; bad behavior goes unchecked, even when filing complaints to HR, which is the weakest link in the corporate structure.

    Advice to Management

You guys have been so close to so many lawsuits for hostile work environment at your worst; even at your best you're your own enemy with failure to comply to the processes you set as the standard. Cut the bad business, and let hard-working employees have room for growth.

    Pros

Interview is so easy that no real tech or project related guys interview you.... so it has to be a good one for you and you get into the company

    Cons

This is the carpiest company you can imagine of... its just like they will keep you as soon long as you are making money for you... the moment you are not making money for them, even through it their fault, you are screwed... they will fire you. YES THEY WILL FIRE YOU!!! They are nothing but a staff aug company when it comes a consultant.

    Advice to Management

you do some job to keep your folks, dont treat us a low level idots who are just here to make money for ya.

I have been working at Sogeti full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Sogeti has smart and talented consultants who really want to satisfy clients' needs. There's decent benefits including a large 401k match and a lenient policy on tuition/training reimbursement. They've had steady growth for a while and hopefully as their brand name becomes more recognizable, they will attract more prominent clients.

    Cons

Large units like in Ohio probably have great structure and communication, but for years my smaller unit has struggled with this. Organization is lacking and there aren't as many client project opportunities as you'd expect. They will try to shoehorn you into a project if you're on the bench too long, and that's really frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Fix your communication structure in smaller units.
