I have been working at Sogeti full-time

    Pros

Being a consultant for Sogeti exposes you to many different technologies and is a great way to grow your skills technically. Because of their local touch strategy you also don't have to travel out of state unless you want to which is nice. The benefits are really good with a 401k match, education re-reimbursement, great healthcare, and many learning opportunities. Out of college this is a great company to work for and if you're the self starter type you can really push your career far here. Salary is competitive.

    Cons

Being consulting if you get stuck at a client you don't like it can be difficult. If you're not used to consulting it can be hard not having a group culture like as a full time employee with all of the consultants spread out across clients. You really have to assert yourself to get a fair wage in salary negotiations from year to year. If you don't speak up and demonstrate value to the company you won't get a raise for years which makes it hard to retain top talent.

    Advice to Management

Create a more fun inclusive culture among the consultants and focus less on keeping quarterly costs down.

    Pros

Great culture, Support system and experience

    Cons

Must use PTO for sick time. Other companies offer separate sick leave or unlimited sick time (within reason) that doesn't count against personal vacation time.

"Consulting is based on who you get placed with: New Grad Hire Review"

I have been working at Sogeti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is in relation to Sogeti's new grad program that hires straight out of college. Ability to accumulate different types of experience that would normally not be possible at one position. Efforts by the Austin office to include consultants in social meetings outside of work (some "mandatory" but have money incentive) is appreciated since consulting creates a disconnect. Has a great counselor program that allows you to communicate your progress. Includes paying for training and certifications. Has a decent 401K and health plan, at this time you get fully vested in 3 years. There is a great boot camp that ramps you up for your practice. Sogeti is at least making a conscious effort to combat gender inequality.

    Cons

Hard to maintain a work-life balance as there are several out-of-work events that you are highly recommended to attend on a monthly basis. What work you are placed at depends on availability, so as a developer there is a chance you get placed in a PM role, or vice versus. Understand that you will have to advocate for yourself and take the initiative to progress your own career, through certifications and speaking up.
