I have been working at Sokrati full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    * The people- A lot of smart, hard-working folks and an overall friendly and vibrant group of youngsters. Mostly peers in L1-L2 are helpful and collaborative and willing to go to great lengths to deliver work. *Good place to learn digital marketing on search, social, display channels. Some able people lead these parts of the business. * Some teams provide good learning (comes at a cost, see cons) * Client... interaction opportunities from an early stage, freshers given responsibility too. *No dress code. Informal conversation is encouraged at all levels

    Cons

*TERRIBLE HR Policies. The company does not make PF contributions it is supposed to make. Increments are uneard of. Don't even think of perks/benefits. *There seems to be no urgency to tackle these issues and HR likes to keep everything opaque. *The company has set up many more businesses recently which are separate from the media business. These units are facing issues in terms of staffing and NO APPRAISAL CYCLE... IN PLACE in these businesses. * Middle management is grossly incompetent: Sales people pitch absurd things to clients, managers don't know what to prioritize and what not to. Hence priorities change every 2 hrs and employees end up feeling burnt out and frustrated. * Don't be surprised if someone asks you to do something, you spend time and energy to do it only for it to be arbitrarily scrapped and a new task to be assigned to you. Then you will be asked why your previous task wasn't complete when the new task also turns out fruitless (Yeah ;_;) *Many middle managers can't strategize well, even the "strat managers". Way too many ad-hoc tasks come up for no good reason. Decisions are taken on instinct and as knee-jerk reactions, often under panic. * Work/Life balance is non-existen. Expect to work long nights and burn the midnight oil repeatedly and then be expected at work usual time. Expect to be working on weekends/holidays at times without any extra pay. *WFH policy is getting more restrictive and opaque. Different rules apply to different people. *Infrastructure bursting at the seams. The company is hiring aggressively and doesn't have the infrastructure to accomodate them.

    Advice to Management

Don't say that your people are you best and then take them for granted, even exploit them at times. Invest in your employees and build a stronger vision for the loger term. Address things like benefits, attrition, appraisal cycle parity on priority and hire some efficient experienced managers.

I have been working at Sokrati full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Growth opportunities are good. Open door policy Great culture

    Cons

No transperancy. No clarity in goals, execution and outcome. Everytime they plan new things and execute none. Lot of adhoc tasks

    Advice to Management

They should communicate with employees about actual plans and not make up stories that will look good. They should be straight to communicate about a persons growth, role, expectations.

I have been working at Sokrati full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot of pros to think of: 1) Work-Life Balance. 2) Salary on time 3) HR takes care of Employee Engagement 4) Flexible work culture and 5 days working 5) Round the Year Appraisal pattern and hence no need to wait for the annual cycle 6) Best opportunity to learn and grow in case you are a fresher 7) Performance-driven philosophy and literally no politics 8) People are young, friendly, out-going and... passionate about what they do.

    Cons

Just a couple of things that I believe could be worked upon: 1) Cab facility to be introduced 2) The lunch quality of the Cafeteria should be made better.

    Advice to Management

The firm is in its peak expansion-stage and making it big in the target market. Hence, it would be ideal to inculcate some degree of Process-Orientation in day-to-day operations and support-functions. Although we aim to keep the start-up culture intact however there's a need for managing Change and realign the practices keeping in mind the rapid pace we are growing with.

I have been working at Sokrati full-time for more than a year

    Pros

No Pros of working at Sokrati.

    Cons

The senior management just fails to reckon the fact that their employees have a life outside the office. The working hours are exhausting, literally suck the life out of employees, absolutely no regard for employee's health, even if you are on a leave, you would be expected to complete your daily tasks which would usually take a minimum of 2-3 hours. Your promotion is in the hands of your superiors so nobody has the... courage of speaking to their peers about the discomfort they have been facing. The salary is on the lower side No wonder why the retention or attrition rate is so poor here. No additional support is given when somebody resigns if its demanded or even talked about then rather than acknowledging, it is looked down upon or giggled out .
