I worked at Solar Turbines as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment. Learn about manufacturing and design. Was very hands on which is great for an intern because I learned a lot more than I could if I was just sitting behind a desk. People who I worked with were great and easy to get along with. Pay was excellent as well.

    Cons

No real cons. Just do your work and you'll be good to go. If you are not a morning person then it might be a little difficult as the work day starts at 6AM.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Really enjoyed the management and never had any problems with them at all.

    Pros

If you can get in at the ground level with Solar and push yourself as far as you can manage.... A very family oriented culture.

    Cons

There is little turn over... Sometimes it can stall your growth efforts. I left due to a stop in my growth potential.

    Advice to Management

Create more internal employee development programs. Invest in your people.

I have been working at Solar Turbines as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The atmosphere is great and the entire intern program is run very well. They compensate you well and encourage you to interact with the other interns. I really felt like I was doing meaningful work and contributing to the company. I really have nothing but good things to say about them!

    Cons

Their relocation agency is a bit hard to work with, but that's a pretty minor thing compared to how good it is.

    Advice to Management

Continue to do what you're doing, as everything is going well. The intern program is being handled very well by human resources as is.
