    Pros

Expanding product offerings results in continuous challenge. Company paid lunches. Satisfactory compensation and benefits.

    Cons

Low ration of employees to managers. Micromanagement of experienced individual contributors. Disparate application of policies within and across organizations. Few opportunities for professional development and advancement.

I worked at SolarWinds full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great learning experience around all things product marketing.

    Cons

Chaotic. High employee and management turnover. You can get burned out very quickly there. Upper management is too focused on the quantity of "leads" instead of the quality of the lead, resulting in a "spray & pray" marketing model.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employee feedback. Seek input from the people who are actually interfacing with customers.

    Pros

You can't get a business model that's much better than this. So if you're there, learn from it.

    Cons

Very political, too much nonsense in meetings that didn't move the business forward.
CEOs model of motivation is really demotivation, it's a shame, the business could be so much more.

    "Extreme Stress- Very high pay"

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Most people in the tech industry know of Solarwinds. They know if you can make it 6 months to a year here, you can make it anywhere.

    Pretty good pay structure.
    Great benefits

    Cons

    Sweatshop, no work life balance.
Very few people actually hit quota.
High turn over rate. 86% before the first year

    Advice to Management

Management means well but they have their bosses coming down on them for unrealistic goals which over pushes their reps to strive for unrealistic goals which is why most reps break after 6 months.
Set actual quotas and goals and you will have much less attrition.
