I have been working at Solstice Sunglass Boutiques full-time

    Pros

    Promotions, nice upper management.

    Cons

Conversion tracking...attainable contest. Not a strong bonus incentive for Keyholders

I worked at Solstice Sunglass Boutiques part-time

    Pros

    Discount on sunglasses
    Training is good & improving
    Not super busy, low stress
Customers are reasonable & not super demanding

    Cons

    Part time hours only
Theft and trying to prevent it
    Work alone often
Upper management can be hostile when trying to motivate stores to make sales

    Advice to Management

    Improve inventory
Higher pay will result in less turnover and better quality employees
If sales aren't up to par then try seeing what the company can do to improve and be competitive with other companies, instead of only blaming your employees

I worked at Solstice Sunglass Boutiques full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Mostly nice people. Good discount. Decent health insurance.

    Cons

Constantly changing direction from leadership with no long term planning so there is no security. Promises of changes and new initiatives were never delivered. Sales are bad so teams are all over worked and under appreciated with fatigue being a big issue. After a year most people are beaten down by management and frustrated. They like to talk a big game but don't follow through with anything long term.

I worked at Solstice Sunglass Boutiques full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not a lot of physical work (it's just cleaning sunglasses and mopping the floor) at the outlet stores the company offered good promotion codes to encourage up sales and meet and exceed the KPI goals

    Cons

Company does not compensate as well as they could for Supervisor positions yet it puts on you the same responsibility as other companies who compensate above 15$ an hour with PTO, Sick days off. Benefits and health Insurance. Solstice only offers benefits for store managers. They desperately need to treat their employees better, the high turn out rate proves my point. No Bathroom at this Auburn Hills Location, most the shifts were on single coverage thus making the bathroom dilemma ten times more inconvenient. The bonus program is only 1% when you meet your personal sales goal in dollars for the month.

    Advice to Management

Add a bathroom to this location, it's a potential OSHEA jeopardy for acceptable working conditions. Having to close the gates on single coverages counts against you, when you don't have a choice it can be a health hazard for people with bladder problems or irritable vowel syndrome
Relatively simple learning curve for the two weeks of Training, Management is pretty flexible and reasonable for accommodations as long as they are given in advance. The Store manager has a positive go fitter attitude and always seems to try her best to make her employees motivated and happy, goes as far as buying us lunch and snacks out of pocket, in my opinion the issues branch from upper links in the command chain.

I worked at Solstice Sunglass Boutiques full-time

    Pros

One is the leader in the store and has very little supervision from top management.

    Cons

No upward mobility, lack of structure. Poor allocations department leaves stores without sellable merchandise. Purchasing department needs a tune up with the styles and agreements that they settle from designer. Purchasing department doesn't have the frontline experience to stay ahead of the trends.

    Advice to Management

Top management needs to look to frontline for advice on what the end customers truly are looking for. Very decentralized organization.

    Pros

    - Pay, Incentives
    - Opportunities to work one on one with Brand Reps
    -

    Cons

    - Lack of support from DMs and Home Office
    - Terrible replenishment processes
    - Change policies way too much
    - Lack of communication all around
    - A lot of grey areas
    - No team connection within district
    - Unprofessional peers - rude and unsupportive of newness within upper management
    - Do not provide enough product knowledge around optical, lenses, brands, incoming collections. Very dry and bland, not what i was expecting from the eye wear power house they claim to be
    - A lot of gossip

I worked at Solstice Sunglass Boutiques full-time

    Pros

    - Good starting wage
    - Annual raises (not much, but it's better than nothing)
    - Eyewear is easy work. No folding, no excessive amounts of go-backs

    Cons

    - They don't take sexual harassment complaints seriously. But what do you expect from a retail company? You're just a number to them
    - Difficult to move up and go forward within the company
    - No maternal leave
    - Regional and district management is a mess... and way too much drama!
    - They never fire people, even when they deserve to be... so good luck actually getting any sort of complaint or issue with another employee handled
    - They will only give you the time of day if you're making your numbers. You have one bad week and it's like they forget all of the hard work you've put in. I was a top selling for a year and once my numbers started going down, it's like I stopped exiting in the company

    Advice to Management

Start treating your employees like real people instead of treating everyone like selling machines. And sexual harassment is a real issue. Train your store managers and co-managers properly on dealing with this issues.
