    I worked at Solutions By Design II full-time

    Pros

    SBDII was a wonderful company to work for. Everyone is happy on a daily basis and there was plenty of laughter throughout the office each day. The company itself actually seems to care about their employees. Management check up on you from time to time just to see how you’re doing. Management wants to grow you and even sets out a plan to get you to that next level. My colleagues there were all such great people with big kind hearts. Their talent acquisition director receives my highest regards as she remained attentive to any of my concerns, did what she said she was going to do, and actually made me feel like I was wanted in the company. Overall a great company.

    Cons

    The internal onboarding process setting up your accounts and whatnot wasn’t very streamlined. Guaranteed that your first week of working there will consist of you struggling to set up your accounts.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    Advice to Management

    Allow work remote, trust employees, Hardworking and happy software engineers likes to stay awake at night and solve problems than driving 2-3 hours a day to work with less sleep. They will quickly deliver quality products.

    Office politics. Not open to change.

    Advice to Management

    I highly recommend the Director of Operations and the HR department to attend management training. There is a disconnect between management and employees. Advancement and growth is only available to those who activly choose to play office politics. There is a very high turnover level due to the incompetent management.

    Pros

    Nobody cares if you go on vacation.

    Cons

    SBD WILL SEVERELY UNDERCUT YOU WITH PAY. You’ll make way more money at a larger firm like Accenture, Deloitte, Booz, NG and CGI for the same work. Management is sneaky. Corporate office doesn’t care about satellite offices. No room for advancement. Pretty sure they paid people to write reviews because most SBD employees have one foot out the door. HR is a joke and will take weeks to get back to you IF they ever do. No training provided, they just throw you out there and wait for you to fail. Most people who have been with SBD for a while either mysteriously left or got pushed out including several members of executive management. Honestly save yourself the headache and head for the hills. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your people like human beings. Be transparent. Fire your entire HR department. Be more involved with your employees and cultivate the talent you have instead of passing judgement on employees you don’t even know.

    Pros

    It does in deed take a village or I must say a corporation to raise excellent and dedicated employees. A company that goes above and beyond to support their employees is a gem in this industry. My brother passed away 2 weeks before I started working at SBD2 and I must say the kindness shown from my manager and corporate I’ve not seen in my 13 years working. SBD2 is a family orientated company. They put their employees first and I am appreciative of it.

    Money. Yep. That's about it.

    Cons

    Satellite Offices are treated as an afterthought-If you ain't in Vienna...Oh well....
    Never had any kind of Performance review so I never knew if I was doing a good or poor job
    401K "Matching Contribution" is if the owners deems it is possible to do so
    Actually had better interactions with the other Sub on the contract - at least they came to visit the office...
    I should have know better when they stated Insperity is the benefits provider.... Insperituy, in my opinion, rates about a C-

    Advice to Management

    CLEAR COMMUNICATIONS OF EXPECTATIONS TO ALL EMPLOYEES REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY ARE PLACED...please....
    Just winning a contract is only 1/2 of keeping it - Please COMMUNICATE with your employees at least on a weekly basis. And NO; emailed Newsletters are not communication...How about SKYPE? How about a call every once in a while to say..."How you doing? - "What can we do to make you more effective in your position?"
